BreadTalk Launches Lilac Themed Yam and Bluebery Bread and Pastries for Mother’s Day

BreadTalk is marking Mother’s Day this year with a limited selection of cakes and breads inspired by familiar Asian flavours, particularly yam and blueberry for their lilac colouring. Available at outlets islandwide from nowl to 10 May 2026, the seasonal line up focuses on simple treats that are easy to share with family.

We tried several highlights from the new collection, starting with the beautiful Yammy Blossom 香芋花开 cake.

Available at an early bird price of $35.80 before reverting to its usual price of $39.80, this edible floral arrangement features a smooth mousse made from premium Da Jia Yam sourced from Taiwan.

The taro is known for its creamy texture and natural sweetness, which pairs well with the soft yam chiffon base, light yam mousse, and smooth cake pudding. The cake is elegantly decorated with vanilla white chocolate cream petals, rose bandung jelly, fresh blueberries, red currants, longan, and apricot.

For smaller everyday treats, the Yammy Lava 芋泥火山 ($2.60 each) features a soft exterior topped with a crumbly fragrant boluo crust. Inside, the bun yields a delightful combination of silky yam paste and golden custard.

Another excellent pastry option is the Yammy Croissant 香芋可颂 ($3.30 per piece or $6 for a bundle of two).

This flaky pastry returns with an improved recipe, hiding a satisfyingly chewy core of mochi and yam paste. A light dusting of sweet potato powder and purple chocolate gives the croissant a beautiful purple sheen.

Rounding out our tasting was the Blueberry Milky Way 蓝莓奶盖吐司 ($4.50). This versatile toast serves well as either a quick breakfast or a midday snack. It is filled with smooth cream cheese custard, blueberry fruit jam, and fresh blueberries. A fragrant milky topping adds an extra layer of flavour.
