Swiss performance brand On has introduced the third generation of its popular Cloudmonster franchise, expanding the series into a three-model family designed to cater to different running styles and training needs.
Since the debut of the original Cloudmonster in 2022, the franchise has become known for its bold silhouette, oversized CloudTec cushioning and forward-rolling ride. Now, the lineup evolves further with the launch of the Cloudmonster 3, Cloudmonster 3 Hyper, and LightSpray Cloudmonster 3 Hyper, each engineered to deliver maximum energy return through distinct performance technologies.
Building on the rocker geometry and responsiveness of the first model, while enhancing cushioning introduced in the second generation, the new range aims to deliver more energy, more rebound and more fun for today’s runners.
Positioned as the daily workhorse of the lineup, the Cloudmonster 3 is built for runners seeking a lively yet accessible ride.
It features a triple layer of CloudTec cushioning combined with a dual-density Helion foam midsole for maximum energy return. The re-engineered bottom unit incorporates an aggressively curved rocker shape to propel runners forward, while a nylon-blend Speedboard stores and releases energy for an added burst of propulsion.
The result is a playful, forward-rolling ride designed to energise daily miles.

Developed with input from athletes, including members of the On Athletics Club, this model features Helion HF hyper foam and 20% more cushioning than its predecessor. The upgraded foam compound improves resilience and energy return, while the plateless design helps reduce fatigue during extended runs. An improved heel construction enhances comfort and stability.
Engineered to help runners train harder and recover faster, the Hyper aims to keep legs feeling fresher over long distances.

This version pairs Helion HF hyper foam with On’s pioneering LightSpray upper technology, resulting in the lightest Cloudmonster to date. Constructed from just eight pieces, including a single-piece upper and minimal rubber elements, the shoe weighs only 205g (Men US 8.5).
Despite its minimal build, it delivers maximum cushioning, with a 45mm heel stack height that exceeds the 40mm race-legal limit, positioning it as a high-performance super trainer rather than a competition shoe. The streamlined construction also reduces material usage, contributing to a lower carbon footprint.
