Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026 Lights Up the New Year with Dazzling Fireworks and Festive Celebrations

Singapore welcomed 2026 in spectacular fashion as crowds gathered around Marina Bay for the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026, marking a rousing start to the new year. Presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the annual celebration also served as a fitting finale to a month-long lineup of activities across Marina Bay, drawing the SG60 commemorations to a memorable close.

The highlight of the night was ELYSIUM, a breathtaking 30-minute fireworks spectacle that lit up the iconic skyline in four thematic chapters, set to a specially curated musical score. Bursts of rainbow-hued fireworks filled the sky, symbolising Singapore’s vibrant identity as a city that thrives in harmony with nature.

In the lead-up to midnight, Marina Bay was transformed by a series of immersive light projection shows that celebrated creativity, inclusivity, and optimism. Brightening Lives, presented in collaboration with local philanthropic organisation The Majurity Trust, showcased works by artists with disabilities from ART:DIS on the historic façade of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. Anchored on the theme Thriving Beyond Limits, the artworks explored ideas of unity, perseverance, and innovation with a shared sense of purpose.

Across the water, Sharing Joy, Celebrating with our Communities illuminated UOB Plaza 1 with artworks by ASEAN artists from the UOB Painting of the Year competition. The projections invited audiences to look ahead with hope and positivity, reflecting a collective optimism for the year to come. Both light shows culminated in a special countdown sequence, building anticipation as Singapore ushered in 2026 at the stroke of midnight.

Beyond the visual spectacles, visitors were treated to a vibrant mix of live entertainment and festive experiences around the Bay. As part of Come Together @ Esplanade, rising local acts such as Hey Pelican!, Amni Musfirah, and Heema Izzati took to the stage at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, serenading music lovers into the new year. Meanwhile, Togetherland by World Christmas Market brought a lively carnival atmosphere to the Bayfront Event Space, with an enticing spread of food, family-friendly attractions, and curated shopping options.
