Embark on an extraordinary culinary journey aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train, Southeast Asia, as it introduces the “Tastes of Tomorrow: A Culinary Gathering with Chef André Chiang” series. Launching on 28 April 2025, this exclusive dining experience brings together three of Asia’s most celebrated Michelin-starred chefs alongside Culinary Curator Chef André Chiang, offering a once-in-a-lifetime gourmet adventure through Malaysia’s lush landscapes.

The series features an exceptional roster of culinary masters, each bringing their unique vision to the table:

  • Chef Vicky Cheng of Wing and VEA in Hong Kong – 28 April: Celebrating his Chinese cultural roots with a modern twist.
  • Chef Jason Liu of LING LONG in Beijing and Shanghai – 28 July: Blending traditional Chinese techniques with contemporary innovation.
  • Chef Jungsik Yim of Jungsik in Seoul and New York – 8 September: Pioneering Korean fine dining with inventive creations.

Guided by years of friendship and a shared culinary philosophy, these chefs push the boundaries of gastronomy, presenting reimagined interpretations of local cuisine.

A Journey of Flavors and Friendship

Each three-night Wild Malaysia journey departs from Singapore, taking guests through the scenic landscapes of Malaysia aboard the train’s iconic green and gold carriages. As the train glides through tropical rainforests and charming villages, guests are treated to an immersive dining experience crafted by the guest chefs, celebrating regional ingredients and the rich heritage of Southeast Asia.

Each chef will prepare a signature dish inspired by their culinary roots, culminating in a four-hands dining experience with Chef André Chiang on the final evening. This collaborative dinner showcases the synergy of friendship and flavor, blending cultural storytelling with modern culinary techniques.

Award-winning mixologist Shelley Tai enhances the dining experience with her exclusive cocktail creations, inspired by the rich culture and history of Singapore. Paired perfectly with each chef’s menu, her inventive drinks provide a sophisticated complement to the culinary journey.

Exclusive Chef Appearances and Offboard Excursions

Beyond the exquisite onboard dining, guests can join each chef on curated offboard excursions, including a guided tour of Taman Negara National Park, offering a unique insight into the inspiration behind their culinary creations.

The journey concludes with an elegant four-hands dining experience in the luxurious dining carriages Malaya and Adisorn, featuring expertly paired wines and a curated menu that reflects each chef’s shared philosophy while celebrating the region’s authenticity.

After dinner, guests are invited to the Observation Car for intimate conversations with Chef Chiang and the guest chefs, accompanied by crafted cocktails and live Malaysian jazz.
