Shifu Food Court Revitalizes Bras Basah Complex with a $350,000 Makeover

Get ready for a delightful culinary journey at the newly revamped Shifu Food Court, reopening on October 9, 2024, at Bras Basah Complex. After a stunning $350,000 renovation, this beloved food destination, established in 2001, promises to celebrate Singapore’s rich food culture in a vibrant, nostalgic setting.

Spanning over 498 sqm, Shifu Food Court features 14 diverse stalls, offering both air-conditioned indoor seating and outdoor alfresco dining for up to 430 guests. The alfresco area is adorned with colorful furnishings and lush tropical plants, recreating the charm of a lively street stall. Inside, you’ll find heritage-inspired design elements, including graphic art light boxes and neon signage, illuminating the space around the clock.

Shifu Food Court goes beyond just food, embracing local culture through curated music playlists featuring local artists and displays of traditional attire. This vision aims to establish Shifu as a heritage hub where Singaporeans and tourists alike can enjoy culinary delights in a lively, artistic atmosphere.

Open 24/7, Shifu caters to night owls and late-night diners with a variety of delicious options. You can indulge in everything from Chinese and Penang delights to Thai and Japanese specialties, each dish telling a unique cultural story.

New offerings include the innovative Ah Gong KKM, which puts a twist on instant noodles with fusion flavors, and Penang Island, serving authentic Malaysian hawker favorites. For a gourmet twist on traditional hawker dining, check out Chun Noodle Bar, known for its signature wonton noodles and truffle variation. YuKi Congee offers a comforting selection of traditional Chinese porridge, while Sultan Curry Indian Muslim Cuisine serves up a range of comforting dishes. Don’t miss Ding Ji Teochew Noodle House, renowned for its bak chor mee and fishball noodles.

Shifu also stands out with its drinks stall, Shifu Café, Heritage of Flavours, which offers barista-style coffee at an affordable price, making it the go-to spot for a caffeine fix.

In a unique partnership with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Shifu showcases murals created by students, transforming the space into a vibrant canvas of local artistry.

To celebrate the grand launch, Shifu is offering exciting promotions, including up to 20% off for students from Singapore Management University, NAFA, and LASALLE College of the Arts, along with free Wi-Fi.
