Nickelodeon has just unveiled the nominees for its annual slime-filled Kids’ Choice Awards 2024, featuring over 50 first-time nods from the worlds of film, television, music, sports, and more.
In the Favorite Asian Act category, the nominees are ENHYPEN, Iman Troye, NiziU, SB19, and Tiara Andini. BLACKPINK has been nominated as Global Music Star in the global category.
First-time international nominees include big names such as Halle Bailey, Austin Butler, Sabrina Carpenter, Kai Cenat, Timothée Chalamet, Luke Combs, Ariana DeBose, Ayo Edebiri, Ryan Gosling, Reneé Rapp, Margot Robbie, and Paul Rudd. Leading the pack with six nominations is Taylor Swift, followed closely by Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, and Beyoncé, each with four nominations. The musical performances and presenters will be announced at a later date.
The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 will take place on Saturday, July 13, hosted live by SpongeBob SquarePants (voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke) from their undersea home of Bikini Bottom. This marks the first time animated characters will host a full-length awards show, kicking off a series of multiplatform initiatives for one of the most beloved animated series of all time.
The Kids’ Choice Awards is created just for kids, giving them the power to vote for their favorites across various categories, including movies, television, music, sports, and more. This year’s event promises an immersive experience with enhanced graphics, high-tech motion capture, and augmented reality. Expect fun celebrity collaborations, stunts, and Nickelodeon’s signature orange blimp awards and epic slimings, all while celebrating SpongeBob SquarePants’ special birthday.
In Asia, the Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 will air on the anniversary of the SpongeBob series, which debuted in 1999. The show will be broadcast on Nickelodeon on July 17 at 3:00 PM SGT, with encore telecasts on July 18 at 11:30 AM SGT and July 20 at 11:55 AM SGT. The show will also be available on Paramount+ internationally, where the service is available.
