The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC), Indian Heritage Centre, and Malay Heritage Centre have come together to launch The Good Hood: Where Values Come Home, a unique travelling exhibition aimed at highlighting shared values among the diverse ethnic communities in Singapore.
The Good Hood exhibition, a first-of-its-kind collaboration, brings together the rich cultural tapestries of the Chinese, Malay, and Indian communities to showcase 10 universal values that resonate across ethnicities in Singapore. With a special focus on engaging young families, the exhibition weaves stories from Chinese, Malay, and Indian cultures into its narrative, presenting the significance of these values through a dynamic blend of storytelling and interactive play.
Visitors to the exhibition are in for a treat, experiencing a meaningful cultural journey that goes beyond cultural boundaries, embracing values that are cherished by all.
The inaugural location of The Good Hood: Where Values Come Home opened its doors at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre this morning. The honorable Minister of State for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Social and Family Development, Ms. Sun Xueling, graced the occasion with her presence, underscoring the significance of this collaborative effort in fostering unity and understanding among Singapore’s diverse communities.
The Good Hood is not confined to a single location; it is set to embark on an 18-month journey, reaching at least 24 venues, including shopping malls and libraries. This ensures that a broader cross-section of the public has the opportunity to engage with this enriching exhibition, fostering a deeper appreciation for the shared values that bind Singapore’s multicultural society.
For those eager to embark on this cultural exploration, The Good Hood: Where Values Come Home is currently on display at the SCCC Concourse until 7 February 2024. Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in a journey of cultural discovery and celebrate the shared values that make Singapore a harmonious and diverse nation.
Stay tuned as The Good Hood exhibition continues its journey, bringing the essence of unity and shared values to communities across Singapore.
