OTH Festival 2026 Turns Tampines into a Whimsical “Kueh-scape” of Culture, Play and Community Celebration

Tampines will come alive with colour, creativity and culinary nostalgia as OTH Festival 2026 returns with “The Great Tampines Kueh-scape”, a vibrant celebration of Singapore’s multicultural heritage through the beloved tradition of kueh. The festival runs from 20 June to 28 June 2026 at Town Square @ Our Tampines Hub, offering free admission for all.

Organised in conjunction with the National Family Festival by Families for Life, this year’s edition transforms the space into an immersive playground inspired by iconic kueh from across communities. Visitors can expect oversized installations, interactive games, live performances, storytelling sessions and cultural showcases designed to bring residents of all ages together through shared experiences of food, play and heritage.

Operating hours for the festival are as follows: closed on Monday, 22 June for maintenance, open Tuesday to Friday from 23 to 26 June between 5pm and 9.30pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 27 to 28 June between 10am and 9.30pm.

One of the main highlights is Kueh Gym, a larger-than-life interactive installation that reimagines Singapore’s favourite kueh as playful fitness inspired structures. Visitors can explore a whimsical landscape featuring tutu shaped barbells, murukku climbing rings, snack pits, kueh lapis rainbow steps and a towering inflatable Ang Ku Kueh centerpiece. Designed as both a playground and cultural tribute, the installation encourages movement, laughter and rediscovery of familiar food icons in unexpected ways.

Families and friends can also take part in Kueh on the Run, a mobile web based digital game supported by MSF, NLB, Tampines Mall, Lorong Tua Pek Kong Temple and Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple. Without the need to download an app, participants embark on a kueh themed trail across the festival grounds, completing bite sized challenges to unlock and collect digital kueh. The first 2,000 participants per day will receive exclusive giveaways, while additional support includes 9,000 ride coupons for low-income families provided by JKids and complimentary drinks sponsored by Yeo’s.

Adding a theatrical twist to the festival is a 30-minute interactive comedy performance also titled Kueh on the Run, where Chef Dorothy embarks on a chaotic chase to retrieve runaway kueh characters including Ang Ku Kueh and Kueh Lapis. The performance blends humour, audience interaction and storytelling as the mischievous kueh explore the world beyond the kitchen, ultimately discovering that their differences make them special and together form a complete “platter” of community and belonging.

The festival will also feature Sangam by Bornfire Circus (Singapore), where a seven-metre aerial rig transforms the sky above Town Square @ OTH into a dynamic performance space. Audiences can look forward to aerial silks, acrobatics, jugglers and unicyclists weaving through the crowd in a high energy circus experience that fills every corner of the festival with movement and spectacle.

Another major highlight is Singa Drum Gaia Fiesta led by Nadi Singapura, a large-scale percussion performance featuring 250 youth performers from schools, ensembles and community groups. The performance brings together Malay, Chinese, Indian and Western drumming traditions in a powerful display of unity through rhythm, culminating in a specially commissioned world premiere composition created for the festival.

Music and community spirit take centre stage at Sing Kueh-ther led by The VIBE Choir Singapore, a mass sing along session designed to turn strangers into neighbours through shared song. The session promises a warm and energetic atmosphere where participants come together in a collective celebration of music, laughter and connection.

The festival will close with The Full Platter Crew, a grand finale celebrating multicultural creativity and youth led expression. Highlights include Kueh-Ra Rosa by Qara Rosa, featuring energetic Brazilian percussion, and Aneka Ragam! by Kelana Purba, a dikir barat performance blending song, humour and synchronised movement inspired by traditional kueh.
