Liverpool FC and adidas have unveiled the club’s new 2026 to 27 home kit, drawing inspiration from the iconic adidas strip worn during the Reds’ memorable 1989 to 90 title-winning campaign.
The new design bridges past and present by reimagining one of the most recognisable kits in Liverpool FC history, paying tribute to an era widely regarded as one of the club’s most successful. The original 1989 to 91 adidas strip became closely associated with the team that secured the First Division title, finishing nine points clear under manager Sir Kenny Dalglish. That squad featured club legends such as Ian Rush, John Barnes, Alan Hansen and Bruce Grobbelaar.
The latest campaign also brings the legacy into the modern era, featuring current players including Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Grace Fisk and Faye Kirby, reinforcing the message that footballing greatness spans generations.
The new home shirt takes clear inspiration from the original design, best known for its bold geometric pattern. The updated version introduces a deep red base with a modern all-over graphic that echoes the late 80s aesthetic while offering a contemporary finish. Clean white detailing on the club crest, adidas logo and trims completes the classic look with a refined edge.
A significant feature of the shirt is the inclusion of the 97 emblem encased by the eternal flames on the back of the jersey, placed at the nape of the neck in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster.
The club has also introduced a new LFC name and number style for the back of shirt, aligned with the club’s updated typeface introduced last season, which draws inspiration from the wings and talons of the Liver bird. The full 2026 to 27 home kit is completed with deep red shorts and socks to create a unified matchday look.
Alongside the outfield kit, adidas has released a matching goalkeeper kit featuring the same design language, reimagined in a distinctive LFC green colourway inspired by the same era. A new domestic training range has also been launched, including pre match tops, training shirts, tees, an anthem jacket and accessories.
To mark the launch, Liverpool FC has introduced a special retail experience for fans in Singapore. Every purchase of the 2026 to 27 home kit at official Liverpool FC retail stores in Singapore will come with specially designed candy style packaging, which can be unfolded into an exclusive poster while stocks last.
The Liverpool FC 2026 to 27 home kits will be available from 19 May 2026, priced from $115 onwards at selected Weston Corp stores, adidas retail outlets, online platforms, and official Liverpool FC retail stores in Singapore.
