The upcoming 18th edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau has unveiled eight new Bib Gourmand awardees, recognising eateries that deliver exceptional food at great value. The announcement comes ahead of the full restaurant selection reveal scheduled for 19 March 2026.
This year’s additions include six restaurants in Hong Kong and two in Macau, bringing the total number of Bib Gourmand establishments to 83 across both cities, with 70 in Hong Kong and 13 in Macau.
The Bib Gourmand distinction is awarded by Michelin inspectors to restaurants that offer high-quality cuisine at accessible prices, making them popular dining destinations for both locals and visitors.
Among the new recognitions in Hong Kong is Dragons’ Den, a restaurant tucked inside a shopping mall at the foot of Lion Rock. Featuring retro décor and mid-century modern furnishings, the restaurant serves nostalgic Cantonese classics such as baked egg omelette with fish tripe. Its signature squab, dry-aged for five days before being smoked with pear wood and deep-fried, has become a standout dish. Dim sum is also a highlight during lunch service.
Italian dining also joins the list with Fiata, where a chef from Southern Italy crafts authentic Neapolitan pizzas using premium Italian DOP ingredients. Each pizza is made to order, featuring a light, chewy crust with charred edges. The provola e pepe pizza, topped with smoky mozzarella, tomatoes, and pepper, is a favourite among diners.
Teochew cuisine takes centre stage at Ho Ho Chak, whose name means “delicious” in the Teochew dialect. Operated by three brothers who also run a seafood and fruit wholesale business, the restaurant has direct access to fresh ingredients. Signature dishes include steamed pork patty with mud crab and a fried omelette with dried radish and ground pork.
Lai’s Kitchen pays homage to Hong Kong’s traditional dai pai dong street food culture with neon signage and a lively food stall atmosphere. Popular items include Chef Fung’s three-treasure claypot rice featuring pork sausage, goose liver sausage, and salted pork belly, as well as tea-scented crispy-skin chicken.
For Thai cuisine, Siaw offers a vibrant dining experience with colourful décor, Thai pop music, and an open kitchen. Guests can enjoy street-style favourites such as pad kra pao with holy basil and fried eggs, along with sweet treats like kha nom krok, crispy coconut rice pancakes with creamy centres.
Completing the Hong Kong additions is Uncle Quek, a restaurant concept by chef Barry Quek, known for his work at Whey. The restaurant highlights inventive Southeast Asian comfort dishes inspired by the chef’s childhood. Signature dishes include lobster laksa made with shrimp broth and coconut milk, as well as cereal-crusted fried chicken inspired by Singaporean flavours.
In Macau, the Bib Gourmand list welcomes A Lorcha, a well-loved Portuguese restaurant located near the historic Barra Temple. Known for its retro nautical theme, the restaurant serves hearty Portuguese classics such as salted cod fritters, sautéed pork and clams Alentejo-style, and seafood rice.
Also joining the list is Nok Song, a Thai fusion restaurant designed with ribbed vaults reminiscent of a Gothic cathedral. The menu features globally sourced ingredients transformed into creative dishes such as spicy raw shrimp salad using New Caledonian Obsiblue shrimp and heart of palm red curry with Iberian pork collar. For dessert, diners are encouraged to try the mango soufflé pancake roll.
The complete restaurant selection for the 2026 edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau will be unveiled during an official ceremony on 19 March 2026. The results will also be published online through the Michelin Guide’s official website and mobile app for both iOS and Android.
