Google Launches Lyria 3 on Gemini, Letting Users Create Custom AI-Generated Songs and Cover Art in Minutes

Google has unveiled a new way for users to turn their ideas into fully produced music tracks with the launch of Lyria 3 on Google Gemini. The new music generation tool allows anyone to create short, customised songs complete with AI-generated cover art, all within the Gemini app.

From Prompt to Album in Seconds

With Lyria 3, users can produce 30-second music tracks simply by providing a short description or even uploading a photo. There’s no need to write lyrics from scratch. The AI generates complete audio tracks with distinct verses based on the user’s prompt, making music creation more accessible than ever.

To start creating, users can head to the Gemini app and select “Create music 🎵” under the Tools section. From there, they can customise elements such as beats per minute (BPM), musical style, and overall vibe, whether that means a high-energy rap anthem, a sultry duet, or a powerful diva ballad backed by a full choir.

Custom Tracks with AI-Generated Cover Art

Beyond music generation, users can also design matching cover art through Gemini’s integration with Nano Banana, allowing for a fully realised “single” ready to share with friends. This seamless combination of audio and visuals transforms a simple prompt into a polished creative output in minutes.

Perfect Timing for K-Pop Comeback Season

The launch comes amid heightened excitement in the K-pop scene, with global superstars like BLACKPINK and BTS making headlines for their highly anticipated comebacks.

Fans inspired by the bold charisma of Jennie or the global chart-topping success of “Dynamite” can now experiment with crafting their own K-pop-inspired soundtracks. Whether channeling fierce idol energy or producing the next feel-good anthem, Lyria 3 provides an easy entry point into music creation.

To celebrate comeback season, three K-pop-inspired tracks were recently generated using Lyria 3. While the tool is capable of producing its own cover art, the tracks were paired with visuals created separately using Nano Banana for an added layer of creative customisation.
