Step Into the Subconscious at The Arts House with “Neural Echoes: Enter the Sleep Lab”

This January, The Arts House transforms into a mysterious research facility as Neural Echoes: Enter the Sleep Lab makes its immersive debut as part of VERSE 2026. Presented by Tusitala and Artwave Studio, the 50-minute experience invites audiences to cross the threshold between literature, sound and speculative design, and into a world where sleep, memory and uncertainty collide.

Running from 9 January to 7 February 2026, this sound-led narrative experience is designed for small groups of four to six participants, offering an intimate and highly interactive encounter that redefines how stories can be experienced beyond the page.

A Story You Don’t Just Read, You Enter

Set within the fictional confines of SomniTech, an experimental sleep research lab, participants arrive undercover as test subjects in a study plagued by unsettling rumours: previous participants have mysteriously disappeared. As the experiment unfolds, audiences navigate the space by responding to disembodied voices, deciphering instructions, solving puzzles and reacting to subtle shifts in light and sound.

Adapted from a science fiction play-by-email literary work that first premiered at the Singapore Writers Festival in 2020, Neural Echoes has been reimagined as a fully immersive experience. Through meticulous sound design, spatial storytelling and controlled lighting, the narrative unfolds dynamically, with each group actively shaping its own journey through the lab.

Part of VERSE 2026’s Bold Literary Line-up

Neural Echoes: Enter the Sleep Lab is part of VERSE 2026, a festival organised by Arts House Group that champions experimental, cross-disciplinary literary encounters. The experience speaks directly to curious “experience explorers” seeking stories that are felt, heard and navigated, not just read.
