Resorts World Sentosa Rings in the “Season of Good” with Seniors and Singapore’s Longest Gingerbread Train

Resorts World Sentosa is ushering in the festive season with heart and purpose as it launches RWS Cares: Season of Good, a community outreach programme dedicated to togetherness, wellness, and compassion. Running from 3 to 15 December 2025, the initiative brings joy to approximately 200 seniors and 40 staff from six Active Aging Centres (AACs), inviting them to rediscover wonder at the Singapore Oceanarium.

This year also marks the start of a new three-year partnership with SG Cares @ Kreta Ayer, supported by 100 RWS Team Member (TM) volunteers who will contribute a total of 400 volunteer hours throughout the programme. Each visit pairs small groups of seniors with RWS volunteers, ensuring personalised care, companionship, and a meaningful day out beneath the waves.

A Record-Breaking Start: Singapore’s Longest Gingerbread Train

The Season of Good kicked off on 3 December with a sweet surprise, the unveiling of Singapore’s Longest Gingerbread Train at WEAVE (B1). Designed and crafted by the RWS F&B team, the whimsical 71-metre creation features 168 handcrafted gingerbread carriages and aims to set a new record in the Singapore Book of Records.

Seniors from Chinatown AAC were the first to marvel at the sugary showstopper before beginning their oceanarium journey. After the reveal, portions of the Gingerbread Train will be beautifully packaged and donated to nine community organisations in Chinatown, including six AACs, a Family Service Centre, a nursing home, and a Senior Day Care Centre, extending the spirit of giving beyond the resort.

Well-being Through Connection, Care, and the Ocean’s Calm

At the heart of the programme is the belief that connection and nature can uplift well-being. Each session at the Singapore Oceanarium pairs four seniors with two RWS volunteers, fostering inter-generational bonding and offering personalised support throughout the visit.

Set against the serene world of marine life, seniors are invited to enjoy soothing sensory experiences, gentle stimulation, and moments of reflection, all contributing to mental and emotional wellness. The tranquil environment encourages curiosity, calm, and connection, making the experience especially meaningful for elderly guests.

Subsequent visits from five additional AACs run from 4 to 15 December, aligning with SG Cares Giving Week (1–7 December) to further champion volunteerism and community spirit.
