Banyan Group Marks 100th Resort with Grand Homecoming and Inaugural Rainforest Festival in Singapore

Banyan Group is celebrating a major milestone this year with the opening of the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, its 100th resort globally and first-ever resort in Singapore. Located within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the new eco-luxury property sets the stage for the inaugural Rainforest Festival, happening from 27 November to 3 December 2025.

The week-long celebration serves as the finale to Banyan Group’s global “100 Journeys” campaign and supports a meaningful cause. All ticket proceeds will be donated and matched dollar-for-dollar by Banyan Group in support of the President’s Challenge, with additional matching grants from the government under SG60.

Celebrating Nature, Design & Community

The Rainforest Festival invites visitors to explore the connection between sustainable architecture, biodiversity, and wellbeing. Central to the festival is the Discovery Trail, a self-guided walk exploring how the resort’s elevated timber structures and design blend harmoniously with the surrounding rainforest.

Along the trail, guests can enjoy:

  • Birdwatching & nature walks
  • Interactive life-sized installations inspired by childhood games
  • A chance to win resort stays and wellness gifts

A highlight of the trail is The Wishing Tree, a participatory art installation where visitors can add messages of hope and gratitude. The festival also features the Banyan Gallery Showcase, displaying handcrafted works by artisans from around the world.

Guests can also enjoy local and sustainably sourced refreshments, including:

  • Exclusive Gryphon Tea blends
  • Wildlife-friendly Owa Coffee from Java
  • Classic local ice cream bread sandwiches
  • Upcycled chocolate creations from Tanglin Gin

Weekend Market & Live Performances

During the weekend, the resort ballroom transforms into Into the Rainforest by GREEN-HOUSE HangOut, a boutique sustainable market featuring 10 homegrown brands offering handmade goods and DIY craft workshops.

The festival stage will showcase live performances by local musicians and artists, including:

  • Wolfgang Violin Studio
  • Joie Tan
  • Jack & Rai
  • MICappella
  • Heart Songs with Gabrielle Mendoza
  • Beans&Beats

Wellbeing, Nature & Family Experiences

Festival ticket holders can book complimentary workshops and activities throughout the week, including:

  • Scent and body scrub crafting sessions at Banyan Tree Spa
  • Yoga, sound healing, mobility, and meditation classes
  • The signature 100 Sun Salutations group practice
  • Guided rainforest walks

Explore Mandai Wildlife Reserve

Visitors can also book add-on experiences across Mandai Wildlife Reserve, with 20% of proceeds donated to the President’s Challenge, including:

  • Guided tours at Rainforest Wild Asia and Bird Paradise
  • Behind-the-scenes encounters like Backstage Pass
  • ZooSchool educational adventure programmes
