National Library Board Launches Mobile Library Nodes on Buses Across Singapore

National Library Board (NLB) has launched its new mobile Nodes on ten bus services across Singapore, bringing stories and learning resources to commuters on the move.

Among these stories is Talkdog, an original eComic series starring Norman, a cartoon dog who can talk to and understand humans. Developed in collaboration with local artists Johnny Lau, Lim Jun Yong, Luqmaan Haziq, and Nick Tan, these buses have been transformed into pop-up libraries, making reading more accessible and fun.

Passengers simply need to scan the QR codes onboard to access the comics and NLB’s eResources through the NLB Mobile app. Commuters can dive into Talkdog and Utama the Sage Slayer, with new episodes released biweekly until 26 November 2025. Each comic offers up to five episodes, designed especially for tertiary students, though everyone is welcome to enjoy them.

The initiative is rolling out on buses 13, 31, 52, 74, 93, 141, 151, 506, 852, and 966, which serve routes near several Institutes of Higher Learning. Beyond eComics, commuters can also browse and borrow eNewspapers, eMagazines, and eBooks on the go.

This launch builds on the success of NLB’s previous transport-based Nodes introduced in 2023 at train stations and bus interchanges. By turning everyday spaces into reading hubs, NLB continues to make stories and knowledge more accessible while spotlighting the works of local creators.
