[Review] CMF Phone 2 Pro by Nothing: A Stylish Mid-Range Phone Built for Creatives

If you love sleek design and want a phone that looks and feels premium without the flagship price tag, CMF by Nothing’s latest release, the CMF Phone 2 Pro, might be worth a look.

Priced at just S$399, it offers plenty of style, decent performance, and some fun extras, though it is not going to blow you away with raw power.

We tested it out and here’s what we think.

Looks That Turn Heads

Let’s be honest, this phone is made for people who care about how things look.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro is one of the best-looking phones in its price range. It is thin (only 7.8mm), light (185g), and comes in an eye-catching colour like bright Orange.

The finishes are a mix of matte, glossy, and textured, with small design touches like visible screws and a unique back panel.

It really stands out next to other plain-looking phones in the same range. If you are a designer or just love aesthetics, you will appreciate these attention to details.

Decent Cameras for Everyday Shots

The CMF Phone 2 Pro packs four cameras, including a main 50MP lens, a telephoto (for zooming), an ultra-wide for big scenes, and a selfie camera. Pretty much standard and works the way they are intended to.

We tested them out and the photos look sharp and colours are natural when taken in good lighting. The zoom works well up to a point, and the ultra-wide is great for travel or group shots. That said, do not expect professional-grade quality, especially at night and in low light settings. For general usage, it is suffice.

Big, Bright Screen

The phone comes with a large 6.77-inch AMOLED screen. That’s a fancy way of saying it is bright, colourful, and sharp. Watching videos, scrolling through social media, or reading websites all feel smooth, thanks to its fast refresh rate.

It also reacts quickly to touch, making it feel snappy and responsive, perfect for everyday use, casual gaming, and multitasking.

Performance That’s Just Right

Under the hood, there is a new MediaTek processor that can handle most apps and tasks easily. Whether you’re checking email, switching between apps, or watching YouTube, it runs smoothly. It is not built for heavy gaming or video editing, but for most users, it is more than enough.

It also comes with Android 15 and Nothing’s clean, simple software that is easy to use and not loaded with bloatware.

Battery That Lasts

The 5000mAh battery is big enough to last about two days on a single charge. It also charges fairly quickly with a wired charger (no wireless charging though).

Fun Add-Ons and Modular Features

Here’s where it gets a little different.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro comes with accessories you can attach, like a card holder, stand, or clip-on lenses (including fisheye and macro).

CMF Phone 2 Pro’s modular features

There’s even a key that can be programmed to launch different shortcuts. These are not must-haves, but adds a bit of fun for those who like to personalise your devices.

Bonus: CMF Buds 2

Launched alongside the phone are the CMF Buds 2 (S).

They come with active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and are tuned for clearer sound. They match perfectly in aesthetics with the CMF Phone 2 Pro and is a awesome freebie to get if you buy the CMF Phone 2 Pro early.

Pricing & Availability

CMF Phone 2 Pro (8+256GB): S9 (available in White, Black and Orange now for Singapore)

CMF Buds 2: S (available in Dark Grey, Light Green, Orange)

Early buyers get free CMF Buds 2 and a 1-year extended warranty. Available at Nothing.tech, Lazada, Shopee, Challenger, and Courts.

Final Verdict: Should You Buy It?

If you care about design and want a good everyday phone without breaking the bank, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is a great choice. It is not the fastest or most powerful, but it looks great, takes decent photos, and has a battery that easily lasts two days.

It’s especially suited for creatives and style-conscious users who want something different from the usual black slab phones.

Put in simply, the real appeal of the CMP Phone 2 Pro is that it is a mid-range phone that looks high-end.
