Saudia, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia, has announced the launch of new direct flights connecting Phuket (HKT) with Jeddah (JED) and Riyadh (RUH), strengthening ties between Thailand and the Kingdom. The inaugural flights, which began on 2 December 2024, mark a major milestone in enhancing travel, trade, and cultural exchange between the two nations.
The launch was commemorated with vibrant send-off ceremonies at Phuket International Airport, attended by VIPs from Saudia, Airports of Thailand, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The events underscored a shared vision of fostering closer connections and boosting tourism and commerce.
Passengers on these routes will experience Saudia’s signature state-of-the-art aircraft and world-class service, ensuring a seamless and comfortable journey.
This expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a national initiative to diversify the economy and establish the Kingdom as a global tourism hub. The new routes also connect travellers to Saudia’s extensive network of destinations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, offering convenient onward connections.
