Anya Hindmarch Introduces the Universal Bag to Singapore with FairPrice Group and Little Farms

Sustainability meets style as Anya Hindmarch partners with FairPrice Group and Little Farms to bring the Universal Bag—a game-changing reusable shopping solution—to Singapore. Designed by Anya Hindmarch and manufactured by the Solent Group, this innovative bag is 100% recycled, recyclable, durable, and designed to last up to a decade, setting a new standard for eco-conscious shopping.

A Global Sustainability Initiative

The Universal Bag builds on the success of Hindmarch’s iconic “I Am Not A Plastic Bag” campaign, which 14 years ago sparked global conversations about reducing single-use plastics. The new initiative continues to champion sustainable living, offering a practical yet desirable alternative to single-use bags. Since its global debut in 2021, the Universal Bag has already diverted over 230 tonnes of virgin plastic from landfills, equivalent to the weight of 19 London double-decker buses.

A First for Singapore

FairPrice Group and Little Farms are the first retailers to bring the Universal Bag to Singapore. Each retailer has customized their edition, reflecting their unique brand values:

  • FairPrice Group Edition: Now available in 39 stores nationwide.
  • Little Farms Edition: Launching in six stores this December.

Retailing at $22, the bags are crafted from 100% recycled plastic and certified under the Global Recycling Scheme (GRS), ensuring every material meets strict sustainability standards. Designed to be durable and stylish, the bag encourages repeated use, reducing waste and promoting a reuse-first mindset.

Driving Change Across the Retail Industry

The Universal Bag initiative is open to food retailers globally, with partners like Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Whole Foods already on board. By collaborating with retailers to create exclusive designs, the project aligns with the ethos of “Eco not Ego,” fostering meaningful change in consumer behavior.

FairPrice Group and Little Farms: Champions of Sustainability

FairPrice Group continues to prioritize sustainability through energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and responsible waste management. Little Farms, dedicated to helping customers live healthier lives, emphasizes eco-friendly practices, minimizing its ecological footprint while delivering premium, all-natural food products.

Together, these retailers aim to inspire Singaporeans to make sustainable choices, starting with a simple yet impactful change: a reusable bag designed to last.
