The Singapore Turf Club (STC) recently concluded its “Capturing Our Beauty” photo competition, drawing enthusiastic participation from local photographers who showcased the rich heritage and legacy of this iconic institution. The competition, which ended on August 30, received over 200 submissions, each offering unique perspectives on the themes of architecture, flora and fauna, and racing.
This initiative was part of the homestretch celebrations leading up to the Grand Singapore Gold Cup (SGC), set to take place on October 5. Through their lenses, participants captured the cultural and historical significance of the STC, highlighting its role as a cornerstone of Singapore’s sporting and cultural landscape.
As part of the competition, STC organized eight photo walks from May to June, allowing participants to explore the Club’s heritage through architecture, nature, and racing. The walks were met with overwhelming public interest, with esteemed photographers and influencers Mr. Lee Aik Soon and Mr. Lee Yik Keat serving as guides and mentors. They shared valuable photography tips and insights into the significance of the various subjects along the routes.
The winning photos will be awarded cash prizes ranging from to 0 and will be featured in a photo exhibition at the Grand SGC on October 5.
The results of the competition will be announced on September 30, showcasing the best of Singapore’s photographic talent and their interpretation of the STC’s legacy.
