Shanghai to Welcome Asia’s First and World’s Largest Peppa Pig Outdoor Theme Park

The groundbreaking announcement was made during a launch ceremony attended by officials from the Shanghai Chongming District Government, representatives from leading toy and game company Hasbro, and Max-Matching Entertainments Co., Ltd.

With an impressive investment of over 2.4 billion Chinese Yuan (approximately 331 million US Dollars), Max-Matching Entertainments has been appointed as the strategic long-term local partner for the project. Slated for a grand opening in 2027, the theme park marks Hasbro’s inaugural Peppa Pig outdoor attraction in Asia, promising an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages.

Spanning approximately 48 acres, the mega-theme park will be located on Changxing Island in Chongming, Shanghai. Situated just 91 kilometers north of Shanghai’s city center, or an hour and a half drive away, the island provides the perfect setting for this immersive entertainment destination.

The project aims to capitalize on Peppa Pig’s immense popularity in China, where it has captured the hearts of millions since its debut in 2015. With over 10 billion views and a wide range of merchandise available across major Chinese retailers, Peppa Pig has become a cultural phenomenon in the region.
