Gateway Theatre unveils its debut full Mandarin theatre production, “The Magic Paintbrush,” tailored for children aged five to 12. This timeless folktale, renowned for its heartwarming narrative of courage and compassion, follows the journey of village boy Ma Liang as he battles against the greed of the Magistrate. At the heart of the story lies Ma Liang, a young boy with a passion for drawing but limited by his family’s financial constraints. His life takes a magical turn when he receives a paintbrush in his dreams, capable of bringing his drawings to life, on the condition that he uses it to aid others. With this newfound gift, Ma Liang sets out on a remarkable journey filled with compassion and wonder.
