Sora Bar at Rosewood Phnom Penh Rings in 2024 with Prestigious Recognition, New Leadership, and Global Mixology Delights

Sora Bar, the elevated haven for craft cocktails perched on the 37th floor of Rosewood Phnom Penh, is set to captivate cocktail enthusiasts with a series of exciting announcements and events as it welcomes the new year.

’50 Best Discovery’ Recognition

Basking in the glory of acclaim, Sora Bar proudly joins the coveted World’s 50 Best Discovery list, as declared by The World’s 50 Best Bars Academy in October 2023. This accolade solidifies Sora Bar’s status as a must-visit destination in Phnom Penh, showcasing the team’s unwavering commitment to delivering an unparalleled cocktail experience. The recognition not only honors the excellence of Sora Bar but also positions Phnom Penh as a rising star in the world of cocktails.

Welcoming Lam Ka Tsun ‘K.T.’ as Bar Manager

In an effort to fortify its leadership, Sora Bar introduces its new Bar Manager, Lam Ka Tsun, affectionately known as ‘K.T.’ Drawing from his extensive experience as the former Bar Manager of Rosewood, Hong Kong, ‘K.T.’ is a celebrated mixologist renowned for his creative prowess. Having steered the cocktail program at DarkSide, housed in the flagship property for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts Group, he brings a wealth of knowledge in rare, aged dark spirits and vintage cigars. Guests can anticipate an enhanced experience at the Whisky Library, where ‘K.T.’ will seamlessly pair exceptional drinks with premium cigars.

Sip on Excellence: Unforgettable Guest Shifts

Continuing its tradition of bringing global mixology talent to Cambodia, Sora Bar unveils an exciting lineup of guest shifts and Sora pop-ups throughout January and February. On January 26, Jay Khan, owner of Coa, Hong Kong’s #1 bar on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list, joins the team at Sora Bar, presenting a series of agave-forward drinks inspired by Oaxaca, Mexico. Expect to savor COA classics, including the inventive Bloody ‘Beef’ Maria and the tantalizing Pepper Smash.

From February 26 to 29, Director of Bars Bob Louison embarks on an exclusive one-night guest shift at Sidecar in New Delhi and Cobbler & Crew in Pune. Bringing a taste of Sora Bar’s ‘Book of Yokai’ menu, Louison introduces four signature cocktails, seamlessly blending Japanese mythology with Cambodian flavors. Guests in both cities will embark on a sensory journey, exploring unique concoctions like Jewel Princess and the aromatic Sora 75.

As Sora Bar at Rosewood Phnom Penh continues to redefine the cocktail landscape, these developments promise an extraordinary blend of innovation, storytelling, and refined hospitality throughout 2024.
