Empowering Women Through Sport: GoGirls! Ambassadors Shine at Women’s World Floorball Championships

Get ready to witness a powerful celebration of sport and female empowerment at the upcoming Women’s World Floorball Championships (WFC) 2023, set to take place at the Singapore Sports Hub from December 2nd to 10th. This year, the event will be led by a remarkable group of 16 GoGirls! ambassadors, each representing a participating team in the championship.

The GoGirls! project, introduced by the International Floorball Federation (IFF) in 2013, holds a noble mission: to increase and promote the participation of girls and women in floorball across the globe. It seeks to tackle the challenges that girls often face when trying to access and participate in sports, ultimately breaking down these barriers within the international floorball community.

For the WFC 2023, one player from each of the 16 competing teams has been designated as a GoGirls! ambassador. These ambassadors will not only compete on the court but will also actively promote floorball within their respective communities in the lead-up to the championship. They will raise awareness about the resources available for girls interested in taking up the sport, serving as role models both on and off the court.

Their performances during the WFC 2023 are bound to inspire not only the spectators at the Singapore Sports Hub but also viewers tuning in from around the world.

The action kicks off on 2 December at the OCBC Arena, where world No. 1 Sweden will begin their title defense. Hosts Singapore will launch their campaign against WFC debutantes France on the same day. As the championship unfolds, it will move to the Singapore Indoor Stadium, with the semi-finals and final scheduled for 9 and 10 December, respectively.

Excitement is building, and fans can catch all the action with ticket prices starting at just $15 for youths aged six to 17 and $20 for those above 18. Secure your tickets now through SISTIC and be part of this fantastic celebration of women in sport at the Women’s World Floorball Championships 2023.
