Great Green Run 2023 is happening this 24 September and you can join for FREE!

The inaugural Great Green Run, presented by CIMB Singapore, is set to make a remarkable debut this Sunday, 24 September, at the stunning Marina Barrage. This groundbreaking event isn’t just about running; it’s about pushing boundaries and creating a global movement that fuses sports with sustainability, diversity, philanthropy, and inclusivity.

A Visionary Collaboration

The Great Green Run is the brainchild of Greenbees, a green communications agency, and TriFactor, a regional multisport organizer. Together, they’re embarking on a mission to transform this run into a worldwide sustainability phenomenon. This event isn’t merely about hitting the pavement; it’s about embracing an eco-friendly ethos and championing community advocacy.

More Than Just a Race

Great Green Run offers a diverse array of activities, including a Corporate and Community Run that promises excitement for all. But that’s not all – the event features a sustainability-centric fiesta brimming with over 30 food, retail, and activity stalls. Among the remarkable sustainable partners onboard are clean-energy giant Tesla, Singapore’s plastic-recycling education hub Plastify, upcycling furniture maker ChopValue, decarbonization mobility provider EVCo, textile recycler Cloop, Taiwan’s zero-waste design studio Wynist, and many more.

The Great Green Run has even forged international partnerships, sending lucky draw winners on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the greenest and happiest nations on Earth – the Kingdom of Bhutan, the world’s first carbon-neutral country, and Lahti, Finland, the European Green Capital of 2021.

Sustainability at Its Core

At this Sunday’s event, runners will receive a “100% sustainable medal made of discarded wood and wool” from Bhutan, a digital certificate, sustainable running attire, e-vouchers, and more, all in alignment with the organizers’ commitment to reducing the event’s carbon footprint. Corporate team registration is linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, while in harmony with the Green Plan 2030, organizers will produce a Sustainability Report, verified by the Singapore Environment Council, as part of their long-term objective to become a net-zero event.

Taking Eco-Friendly Transportation to Heart

Great Green Run encourages all participants and guests to commute to the event via public transportation, reducing the reliance on single-use materials like plastic and paper throughout the event.

The sustainability fiesta is not just for runners; it’s open to the public, and it’s an experience that will last from 9 AM to 6 PM. The Great Green Run is more than a race; it’s a movement that seeks to inspire change, both on the track and in our approach to the environment.
