McDonald’s delivers Hot Meals to Muslim Families in need allowing them to break fast together

McDonald’s Singapore delivered McDonald’s meals to underprivileged Muslim families – in time for them to break their fast.

As a small gesture of care and support, 20 McDelivery riders delivered over 80 sets of McDonald’s Chicken McCrispy (2pc) and drinks to 20 lower-income Muslim families, allowing the families to break fast together and bond over a hot meal.

In addition to the delivery of hot meals to lower-income families for breaking fast, McDonald’s also donated more than 500 Hokkaido Salmon Meals in the form of food vouchers to the beneficiaries of 4PM, the Malay Youth Literary Association, a non-profit social service organisation in Singapore.

“As possibly the most accessible halal restaurant on the island, McDonald’s has always been a major part of the Muslim community in Singapore. This Ramadan, in the spirit of giving, we’re delighted to partner 4PM and reach out to Muslim families in need with our food. Hot meals for breaking fast is a given to many of us but not for all, and we hope a small gesture on our part will bring some comfort and joy,” said Faz Hussen, General Counsel & Legal Director, Legal, McDonald’s Singapore.

Abu Bakar Sidiq, Head of Agency, Malay Youth Literary Association (4PM), commented, “Personally, the biggest gift you can give yourself is to fill someone’s bowl. Such a gesture brings the greatest of fulfilments one could get during this blessed Ramadan. We are very much humbled to receive such generosity in partnership with McDonald’s.

“The benefitting families would entirely feel grateful for their iftar. McDonald’s has always been a part of everyone’s life, starting from the young. It brings happiness to everyone through their happy meals.”
