New Korean drama The King in Love to feature Girls’ Generation’s Im Yoona and ZE:A’s Im Siwan

Fans of Girls’ Generation Im Yoona can look forward to her highly anticipated period drama, The King In Love, which is set to premiere first and exclusively on Sony’s ONE channel, same day as Korea on 17 July at 10.15pm (9.15pm JKT).

In this star-studded drama series from MBC, Im Yoona plays Eun San, the beautiful daughter to the richest man in Goryeo.

A complicated web is spun when she meets Wang Won (played by Im Siwan), the handsome and ambitious crown prince of Goryeo and his loyal best friend and bodyguard, Wang Rin (Hong Jong Hyun).

A close friendship is formed between the three of them but it is quickly mired by political intrigue and romance.

Senior vice president and head of content, production and marketing of Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia, Virginia Lim said: “ONE continues to lead the Korean entertainment genre in Southeast Asia with its ground-breaking, same time as Korea drama series.

“We know what our viewers want in our “Ppali Ppali” time-belt and that’s premium content featuring a strong cast, high production value and captivating storytelling. The King In Love is ONE’s latest blockbuster and will join the ranks of our other hits, Scarlet Heart, Legend of the Blue Sea and My Sassy Girl,” Lim added.

Im Siwan plays the role of a handsome and ambitious crown prince of Goryeo.

South Korean boyband ZE:A’s Im Siwan makes his triumphant comeback to television in The King In Love since his lead role in ‘Incomplete Life’ three years ago.

Hong Jong Hyun also joins the cast fresh off his success from Scarlet Heart, after winning the 2016 Korean Film Directory Society’s Popularity Awards.

ONE is available in Singapore through Singtel TV Ch 513 & 604, StarHub TV Ch 124, 820 & 823.
