Gwen Teng is not unfamiliar with the media

Gwen in FHM

Remember the 32-year-old primary school teacher, Gwen, who stirred up a lot of controversy over her photos submitted for a micro-bikini competition?

Well, thanks to a tip-off from one of my blog reader, Soul, apparently, Gwen had posed for raunchy men’s magazines, HOTstuff and FHM before and is familiar with being in the media limelight.

I think it is clear now she is not an ignorant girl who is a victim of  unwanted media attention. She sought out attention in the first place and got what she wanted – only that it was not on her terms and probably on a much bigger scale than she had anticipated.

From the HOTstuff interview, here are some information gathered about her:

Gwen on HOTstuff

Name: Gwen Teng
Age: 32
Vital Stats: 32-25-33

MS: What else do you do besides modelling?
GWEN: When I am not working in front of the camera, I can be found sipping a glass of red wine, curling up with a good book or working on my tan lines at the beach, in no particular order of merit.

MS: List one good and one bad quality that you have.
GWEN: I can’t help but to correct people’s grammar or spelling. I think it is a good quality but some people just detest it. *laughs*

MS: What is the most disgusting thing you’ve put in your mouth?
GWEN: A deep-fried spider. It was black and it just looked disgusting. Admittedly, I did not eat the entire spider. I only took one bite of the spider’s leg. *laughs*

MS: What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
GWEN: Be good. If not, be safe.

Isn’t the last reply she gave chilling? Indeed, Gwen, “Be good. If not, be safe”. If you chose to become a teacher, there are certain sacrifices to be made. It’s no use crying foul only when all eyes are on you and things already spiral way out of your control.

  • Aiyah...Sg girls mostly like that one mah. Want to show but don't want people to see.

This is exactly the reason WHY I started the thread "Willing vs Unwilling Exposure" at Stomp to discuss this phenomenal phenomena.

This is a good lesson for all Sg girls to savour - IF you wan to expose, do it proudly and boldly. Don't be like a pussy (even if you have one) and sissy and cry wolf and foul and unfair and harassment and disturbance when you are the one who chooses to wear revealingly and sexily.

I have also highlighted another point in another thread - Sg girls, whom are long protected under the Women's Charter, have grown accustomed to the myth that they can do or show or flaunt anything they feel like it, under the banner of women's privacy and in the name of women's rights. At least this time one example is set right.

    Hip hip hooray!

P.S.: oh....it's Thursday tomorrow! Click on my nick and you will be transported to the world of micro mini G-strings' bikinis, where the site will update itself with submissions of new contributors. Enjoy!

  • U have my e-mail add rite? If so why are you still posting your email add up here for all to see?

The only explanation I can see is that though the message is directed to me, you are actually sending it to everyone who reads it. So it's in fact a private message announced publicly.

Smart move in asking every and anyone to email tipoffs to you. Gd one!

  • My email has always been public if you click on the "About Alvin" page. :) But ya, you are right, I need more tip-offs so I won't have to spend so much time trawling the web.

  • vinyarb: No lah! hahaha, this blog got censorship one. Is SFW and viewable for children also. Nothing more than what the local newspaper and TV stations will carry.
