Passengers can connect to the three destinations through Ethiopian Airlines’ hub at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. The expansion comes as trade between Southeast Asia and Africa continues to grow, with Singapore playing a key role as a regional trade and logistics hub.

The Nacala service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with flights routed via Blantyre, Malawi, starting 27 October 2026. Flights to Port Harcourt will begin on 1 December 2026 and operate four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Meanwhile, daily services to Durban will resume on 11 December 2026.

Durban is home to one of Africa’s busiest ports, making the restored connection relevant for business travellers and companies involved in trade between South Africa and Singapore. The additional services are also expected to give travellers more choices when planning journeys between Southeast Asia and the African continent.

The network expansion follows a strong financial year for Ethiopian Airlines Group. During the 2025/26 fiscal year, the airline group reported a 20 per cent increase in revenue to US$9.1 billion. Passenger numbers grew by 10 per cent to 20.7 million, while cargo volumes increased by 16 per cent to 897,000 tonnes.

Its international network also expanded to more than 145 destinations, including the launch of services to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, further strengthening the airline’s presence in Southeast Asia.

Ethiopian Airlines currently operates five flights a week between Singapore Changi Airport and Addis Ababa, providing onward connections to Nacala, Port Harcourt and Durban.

Tickets for the new and resumed services are available through the Ethiopian Airlines website, mobile app and authorised travel agents.
