This Chinese New Year, Martell welcomes the Year of the Horse with a striking blend of heritage, artistry and contemporary celebration. The House of Martell unveils limited-edition designs of its iconic Martell Cordon Bleu and Martell VSOP, complemented by The House of Martell pop-up experience, an immersive open-house inspired by the Chinese New Year tradition of visiting family and friends. The pop-up runs from 5 to 12 February 2026 at the ION Orchard B4 Indoor Atrium, open daily from 11am to 9.30pm with complimentary entry.

A Timeless Bond Between Martell and the Horse
Founded in 1715 by Jean Martell, whose early travels across Cognac were often made on horseback, the House of Martell has long associated the Horse with values of audacity, exploration and freedom of spirit. These qualities remain central to the brand’s identity today, making the Year of the Horse a natural and meaningful celebration for the House.
To mark the occasion, Martell collaborated with globally acclaimed Chinese artist He Datian, renowned for his expressive horse drawings and calligraphic interpretations of equine form. Through fluid, powerful brushstrokes, He captures the movement, vitality and spirit of the Horse, creating a visual language that resonates deeply with the animal’s symbolism. His contemporary interpretations, grounded in traditional Chinese brush techniques, form the visual centrepiece of Martell’s Chinese New Year celebrations.
Limited-Edition Designs for Auspicious Gifting
He Datian’s artwork comes to life across the limited-edition Martell Cordon Bleu and Martell VSOP bottles. Martell Cordon Bleu features fluid, directional brushstrokes that echo the depth and complexity of the House’s most iconic cognac, while Martell VSOP showcases dynamic overlapping imagery that mirrors its bold and fruity profile. Rendered in vibrant red and electric blue with refined gold accents, the designs offer a modern yet auspicious expression, ideal for festive gifting.
The House of Martell: An Open-House Experience for Chinese New Year
From 5 to 12 February 2026, The House of Martell pop-up invites guests into a warm and welcoming space inspired by the tradition of Chinese New Year house-visiting. Designed as a curated journey through culture, craftsmanship and festive rituals, the experience opens with a symbolic welcome, where each guest receives an exclusive Martell red packet containing three coupons redeemable at various touchpoints within the pop-up.
Artistry in Motion
The journey begins with a striking sculptural installation standing 2.67 metres tall, inspired by the Chinese character for Horse: ‘馬’ (mǎ). Rendered in luminous gold tones and reimagined as a three-dimensional calligraphic form, the installation was created in collaboration with He Datian. It brings the spirit and movement of the Horse to life, offering guests an up-close encounter with the artist’s expressive calligraphic language.
Festive Blessings and Personalised Keepsakes
In keeping with the warmth of Chinese New Year visits, guests can redeem a Martell-infused mandarin sorbet, a contemporary nod to the traditional exchange of mandarin oranges as a symbol of welcome and good fortune. The experience continues at The Calligraphy Salon, where guests can create personalised festive couplets with a local calligrapher. Designed as meaningful keepsakes, these customised pieces can be taken home to be displayed, seamlessly weaving Martell into each household’s Chinese New Year celebrations.
Discovering Martell’s Finest Creations
At the heart of the pop-up, The Martell Foyer showcases the Chinese New Year limited-edition collection, including Martell Cordon Bleu, Martell VSOP and a curated selection of other expressions from the House. Guests can explore the intricate bottle designs and purchase the limited editions, with pop-up exclusive gifts-with-purchase available while stocks last.
The journey then leads into The Martell Cellar, a dedicated space highlighting the House’s most exceptional creation: L’Or de Jean Martell Zodiac Edition – Assemblage du Cheval. Crafted from some of the rarest and oldest eaux-de-vie in Maison Martell’s reserves, this annual zodiac release represents the pinnacle of Martell’s savoir-faire. Limited to just 500 individually numbered bottles worldwide, the edition is accompanied by a rare display of previous L’Or de Jean Martell Zodiac Editions, offering a glimpse into the craftsmanship and heritage behind one of the House’s most prestigious expressions.
A Moment of Reunion and Celebration
The experience concludes at The Martell Courtyard, where guests can gather to redeem bespoke Martell cocktails and festive bites, sharing joyful moments to usher in the new year. Before departing, visitors are invited to Portraits of Prosperity, a digital photo experience that allows them to create personalised Chinese New Year e-greeting cards to share festive cheer with loved ones.
Selected activities, including the Martell-infused mandarin sorbet, bespoke cocktails and couplet customisation, are available only during designated operating hours and while stocks last.
