Junction 8 Brings Viral Schoolyard Games to Singapore with Free “Beat the Stress” Challenge

Remember sneaking snacks during lessons, dodging a flying duster or wishing you could spend the entire class doing nothing? Junction 8 is bringing these familiar schoolday antics back this October with “Beat the Stress: The Ultimate Schoolyard Showdown”, a free interactive event inviting shoppers to relive their school memories through a series of playful challenges.

Taking place over two weekends from 15 to 17 October and 22 to 24 October 2026, the event runs daily from 3pm to 8pm. Inspired by viral schoolyard trends and familiar classroom experiences, the activities include the Siammm Teacher Sneaky Eating challenge, Jiak Champion Eating Challenge, Nua one Corner Challenge, Duster Throw and Slipper Flipper.

All activities are free to participate in, with no minimum spending required. Interested participants must register online through the event’s registration link.

Designed for students taking a break from exam stress, working adults looking to unwind and families seeking some weekend fun, the event features three activity zones spread across Junction 8.

Zone A, located on Level 1, hosts the Siammm Teacher Sneaky Eating and Jiak Champion Eating Challenge. Participants can test their ability to sneak a snack without getting caught by the teacher or race against the clock in an eating challenge for prizes.

Also on Level 1, Zone B offers the Nua one Corner Challenge, where participants are encouraged to put away their devices and do absolutely nothing for 10 minutes. The challenge turns relaxation into an activity, giving visitors an opportunity to disconnect from their busy routines and enjoy a short break.

Over at Zone C on Level 3, the Just Whack! station features the Duster Throw and Slipper Flipper challenges. Participants can put their aim to the test using two familiar schoolday items, this time targeting designated objects rather than misbehaving students.

There are rewards for taking part, too. Every participant will receive vouchers or goodies from participating Junction 8 brands, while selected challenges will also offer exclusive “Beat The Stress” sticker packs.

Those looking for a little friendly competition can aim for the top scores at each zone, with leading performers eligible to win up to S$40 worth of eCapitaVouchers and brand vouchers.

Participants who complete all three zones in a single day can also unlock the Ultimate Graduation Prize. Rewards include two Golden Village movie tickets, S$15 KOI cards, as well as other vouchers and gifts. These prizes can be redeemed at Zone C and are limited to the first 100 participants each week, while stocks last.

Certain safety requirements apply to the activities. Participants taking part in Zone A’s challenges must be between 13 and 59 years old, must not have pre-existing medical conditions and must not be pregnant. Zone C has no age limit, but its activities are not suitable for pregnant participants or those with underlying medical conditions.

All prizes and promotional goodies are available while stocks last.
