Junction 8 is bringing back the cheeky fun of school days this October with “Beat the Stress: The Ultimate Schoolyard Showdown”, a free activity that invites shoppers to relive familiar classroom antics through a series of playful challenges.

Taking place across two weeks on 15 to 17 October and 22 to 24 October 2026, from 3pm to 8pm daily, the event will feature nostalgic games inspired by schoolyard memories, including sneaky eating, duster throwing, slipper tossing and the increasingly popular art of doing absolutely nothing.
The activities are open to participants aged 12 and above, with no minimum spending required. Whether it is students looking for a break from exam stress, working adults seeking a pause from deadlines or families looking for some weekend entertainment, the event offers a chance to step away from everyday routines and embrace some old-school fun.
The challenges are spread across three stations at Junction 8. On Level 1, participants can take on the Siam Teacher Sneaky Eating challenge, inspired by the viral school-themed challenge where players attempt to sneak a snack without getting caught. Those who prefer a race against the clock can try the Jiak Champion Eating Challenge.
On Level 2, the Nua One Corner Challenge invites participants to put their devices aside and do absolutely nothing for 10 minutes. The challenge turns the familiar act of zoning out in class into an opportunity to simply unplug and relax.
Over on Level 3, the Just Whack! station brings back two familiar school-day objects with the Duster Throw and Slipper Toss. Instead of aiming at a mischievous classmate, participants will put their throwing skills to the test by taking aim at targets.
There are also rewards for those who take part. Every participant will receive vouchers or goodies from participating Junction 8 brands, while selected challenges will also offer exclusive “Beat The Stress” sticker packs.
For those with a competitive streak, top performers at each station can stand to win up to S$40 worth of eCapitaVouchers and brand vouchers. Prizes and goodies are available while stocks last.
Beyond the challenges, visitors can also explore some of Junction 8’s newer food and lifestyle offerings, including Jiak Ba Food Heaven, Zhang Liang Mala Tang and Randy Indulgence Acai Bar. Shoppers can also browse sporting goods at Decathlon, discover self-care offerings at Samata and bring the family to Sunshine Childhood Playland.
