NEX is celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival this September with a line-up of mooncakes, festive games, interactive activities and family-friendly experiences across the mall.
We attended a media preview ahead of the festivities, starting the evening with dinner at newly opened Charcoal Grill Shinpachi, a Japanese grilled fish specialty restaurant at NEX. The meal included grilled black cod and salmon, served alongside Asahi Dry beer, offering a hearty start to the evening before we explored the festive activities around the mall.

Over at Level 3, the Moonlit Moments activation offers several hands-on activities for shoppers.
One of the highlights is the Mooncake Packing Game, where participants use giant chopsticks to pick up mooncake plushies and toss them into a box. It looks easy, but it is much harder than it looks when we tried it in-person.

There is also an AI Portrait Photo Booth that allows visitors to create Mid-Autumn themed renditions of themselves. This is fun for conversations.

For those who enjoy puzzles, the interactive lantern riddle wall presents traditional Mid-Autumn riddles, known as “Deng Mi”, for visitors to solve. Participants can test their knowledge and compete for a place on the leaderboard, with the Top 10 participants standing a chance to win S$50 eNEXvouchers.

The festivities continue at the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair where visitors can browse mooncakes and festive treats from a range of brands. The fair runs from now to 25 September, from 10am to 10pm, at the Level 1 Atrium.

From now to 25 September 2026, shoppers can also take part in the Eight Bites Trail. After collecting a mooncake-shaped card, visitors can visit eight featured stores and collect a mooncake slice sticker at each stop. Completing the trail comes with a Sanrio lantern and a free gift (we received a piece of mooncake), while stocks last.

Another highlight is the Moonlight Gathering on 19 and 20 September at the Level 4R rooftop. Families can take an evening stroll through Mid-Autumn decorations, fairy lights and glowing lanterns, with a rabbit mascot making an appearance along the way.
The Moonlight Gathering runs in two sessions each evening, from 7.15pm to 8pm and 8.15pm to 9pm.
Each session is limited to 30 participants, or 15 pairs. Visitors who spend a minimum of S$30 in a single transaction at selected participating stores can redeem a Moonlight Gathering eCoupon, with each eCoupon admitting two people and including a goodie bag for each participant.

NEXrewards members can earn NEXpoints when they spend a minimum of S$20 in a single transaction at the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair and scan their NEXrewards member QR. A daily cap of 500 NEXpoints applies, and eNEXvouchers cannot be used for purchases at the fair.
From now to 20 September, shoppers who spend a minimum of S$30 in a single transaction at selected participating stores and scan their NEXrewards member QR can also redeem tokens to take part in the Mooncake Packing Game and AI Portrait Photo Booth experience.
