Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn

Mooncake season is back, and Singapore’s Mid-Autumn Festival offerings are as varied and competitive as ever.

Traditional white lotus paste and salted egg yolks remain firmly on the menu, but 2026 has also brought Dubai chocolate, kunafa pistachio, hōjicha, Mao Shan Wang durian and other increasingly adventurous flavours into the mix.

We tried mooncakes from 14 brands this year, ranging from luxury hotels and established Chinese restaurants to chocolatiers and dessert specialists. Here is our straightforward verdict on what stood out, who each collection is best for and which flavours we would go back for.

1. Conrad Singapore Marina Bay

Best for: Those who want something different from conventional mooncakes

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Conrad Singapore Marina Bay’s Golden Peony collection offers the usual traditional baked and snowskin mooncakes, but the Signature Sweet Potato Filo Puffs were the more memorable option for us.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Instead of the familiar dense baked mooncake texture, these have a crisp and flaky pastry exterior with a smooth sweet potato filling. They feel lighter and less filling, making them easier to snack on.

The packaging is suitably premium too, making the collection a good option for gifting. It is further elevated with premium bird’s nest topping for a more luxurious experience.

Our verdict: A good choice if you are tired of eating the same traditional mooncakes every year.

2. He Bakes

Best for: Supporting a homegrown local brand

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

He Bakes takes a more personal and approachable route compared to the big hotel mooncake collections.

The mooncakes are presented as part of a wider gifting experience, including accompanying treats and tableware. There is a handmade and local feel to the overall offering that makes it particularly suitable for visiting family and friends.

It may not be the most extravagant collection on this list, but that is also part of its appeal.

Our verdict: A charming local option for those who prefer something less corporate and more personal.

3. Shangri-La Singapore

Best for: Traditional mooncake lovers

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Shangri-La Singapore remains one of the safest bets for people who want proper, classic mooncakes.

We tried the Shang Palace Four Treasures, which includes Reduced Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk, Reduced Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste with Single Yolk, Reduced Sugar Plain White Lotus Seed Paste and Longjing with Pumpkin Seeds and Sunflower Seeds.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

The traditional lotus paste mooncakes were smooth, rich and satisfying, particularly the double-yolk version. Our favourite, however, was the Longjing with Pumpkin Seeds and Sunflower Seeds. The tea notes added fragrance without overpowering the filling, while the seeds gave the mooncake a welcome textural contrast.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Our verdict: Consistently one of the strongest choices for traditionalists, with just enough innovation on packaging to keep things interesting.

4. Four Seasons Hotel Singapore

Best for: Premium gifting and adventurous traditional flavours

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Jiang-Nan Chun’s collection combines familiar lotus paste mooncakes with more contemporary flavour combinations.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

We particularly enjoyed the Low Sugar Maple White Lotus Paste with Walnuts. The walnuts provided texture while the maple notes added a subtle sweetness.

The Tropical Lychee White Lotus Paste with Cranberry and Goji Berries was another interesting option, with fruity notes cutting through the richness of the lotus filling.

The Charcoal Black Sesame with Mochi is worth considering for those who enjoy stronger flavours and a chewy centre.

Our verdict: Elegant, polished and more adventurous than it initially appears.

5. Man Fu Yuan

Best for: Traditional mooncakes with a lighter option

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Man Fu Yuan offers a more health-conscious take on traditional baked mooncakes, with reduced sugar content while retaining the familiar richness of classic lotus paste and salted egg yolk combinations. All the mooncakes in the collection are also Halal-certified.

The selection includes White Lotus Seed Paste with Single Yolk, White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk, Red Lotus Seed Paste with Single Yolk, Red Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk, White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia Nuts and Pumpkin Seed, and the more unusual Traditional Plant-based Meat Mooncake with Assorted Nuts.

For those who want variety, the Assorted Baked Mooncakes set brings together some of the collection’s most popular low sugar flavours.

The mooncakes come in elegant maroon and cream keepsake boxes inspired by the iconic arches at Frasers House, with a textured leather-inspired finish designed to be reused after the festive season.

Our verdict: A good choice for traditional mooncake lovers looking for a lower sugar option without straying too far from the familiar flavours of Mid-Autumn.

6. Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie

Best for: People who do not really like traditional mooncakes

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Mr. Bucket is arguably the most unconventional collection on this list.

We tried Ju Pu, Osmanthus Pear, Kinako Mochi and Orh Nee Tang Yuan, all of which lean more towards the world of premium desserts and chocolate than traditional mooncakes.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

The Orh Nee Tang Yuan was our favourite. The combination of yam, salted egg, shallot oil, cereal crunch and mochi sounds unusual, but the different textures and sweet-savoury flavours worked remarkably well together.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Kinako Mochi is another easy recommendation, particularly for fans of Japanese desserts.

An interesting touch on the packaging is that the patterned artwork you see on the cover can be removed and converted into a minature mooncake serving plate for their confectionary.

Our verdict: One of the most creative collections this year and a great conversation starter at any Mid-Autumn gathering.

7. The Grand Heritage Mid-Autumn Collection by Tablescape at Grand Park City Hall

Best for: Those looking for variety

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Tablescape offers both traditional mooncakes and more modern dessert-inspired options.

We tried the 4 Treasures Collection, which includes Lotus Paste with Double Yolk, Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, White Lotus Paste Wu Ren and Golden White Lotus Paste with Melon Seeds.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

The Wu Ren stood out for its nutty texture, while the Golden White Lotus Paste with Melon Seeds was lighter and more delicate.

The Moonlit Dessert Garden Box is particularly interesting for those who want something different, combining mooncakes with handcrafted desserts. This is very beautifully presented and is easily the most picturesque mooncake set we received this year.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Our verdict: A versatile collection with something for both traditionalists and adventurous eaters.

8. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

Best for: Snowskin mooncake fans

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport’s Lunar Voyages collection impressed us with several creative snowskin flavours.

We tried Long Jing with White Peach, Sakura Lychee with Rose Petals, Blueberry and Red Berry Crumble, and Green Tea with Pistachio Crunch.

Our favourite was Long Jing with White Peach. The aromatic tea flavour paired well with the fruit and kept the mooncake from tasting overly sweet.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Green Tea with Pistachio Crunch was another standout, particularly for its nuttier texture.

The packaging gets extra points for the unique lunar themed design and the interactive elements when you rotate the covers.

Our verdict: One of the stronger snowskin collections we tried this year with a creative and engaging packaging.

9. GODIVA

Best for: Chocolate lovers

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

GODIVA takes a completely different approach to Mid-Autumn.

We tried Walnut Cinnamon Dark Chocolate, Apricot Almond Caramel Chocolate, Almond Chocolate Mini Tarte and Strawberry Chocolate Mini Tarte.

The Walnut Cinnamon Dark Chocolate had a richer and warmer flavour profile, while the Apricot Almond Caramel Chocolate offered a pleasant fruity contrast.

The Mini Tartes were probably the easiest to share and enjoy, especially for younger kids or anyone who prefers chocolate desserts over traditional mooncakes.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Our verdict: Buy this for the chocolate lover who would otherwise politely leave the mooncakes untouched.

10. Fairmont Singapore

Best for: Gifting and trying this year’s biggest dessert trends

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Fairmont Singapore marks its 40th anniversary with a special Heritage Keepsake Box, but the mooncakes themselves are equally interesting.

We tried the Assorted Baked Mooncakes, including Low Sugar White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Low Sugar White Lotus Paste with Double Yolk, Oolong Tea Lotus with Multigrain Brown Sugar and Premium Mixed Nuts with Pumpkin Seeds.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

The Oolong Tea Lotus was our favourite from the baked selection, offering a fragrant tea aroma and a more complex flavour profile.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

The Mini Snowskin collection also deserves attention. The Dubai Chocolate flavour, featuring pistachio, kunafa crisp and white chocolate, is clearly designed around one of the biggest food trends of recent years.

Our verdict: One of the more complete collections this year, combining traditional mooncakes with trendy new flavours.

11. Cat & the Fiddle

Best for: Serious durian lovers

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Cat & the Fiddle does not try to do too many things with its Mao Shan Wang Durian Snowskin Mooncake Set.

It focuses on one thing and does it well.

The soft snowskin wraps a generous Mao Shan Wang durian filling that is creamy, rich and unmistakably durian.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

This is not a subtle mooncake. The durian flavour is bold and lingering, exactly as it should be for Mao Shan Wang fans.

Our verdict: One of our top picks for durian lovers. If you love MSW, this is an easy recommendation.

12. Starbucks Singapore

Best for: Casual gifting and sharing

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Starbucks Singapore’s Mooncake Gift Box is designed for those who want a more contemporary and approachable Mid-Autumn experience.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

The eight-piece set combines traditional flavours with tea and coffee-inspired creations, allowing everyone at the table to try something different.

The bunny-themed presentation also gives the collection a playful and festive personality.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Our verdict: A good option for casual office gifting, younger recipients and Starbucks fans.

13. TungLok

Best for: The best balance between tradition and modern flavours

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

We tried the TungLok Quartet, featuring Egg Yolk White Lotus, Egg Yolk Pandan Lotus with Pistachio, Hōjicha with Chestnut and Orange Peel, and Kunafa Pistachio Chocolate.

Our favourite was the Hōjicha with Chestnut and Orange Peel. The roasted tea flavour added depth, while the orange peel helped brighten the rich filling.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

The Kunafa Pistachio Chocolate is another strong contender, particularly for anyone who has jumped onto the pistachio and Middle Eastern dessert trend.

The traditional Egg Yolk White Lotus and Egg Yolk Pandan Lotus with Pistachio provide a familiar counterpoint to the newer flavours.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Our verdict: One of the more well-rounded collections we tried. If we had to recommend one box for a family with different tastes, this would be near the top of our list.

14. Old Seng Choong

Best for: Premium gifting with something extra

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Old Seng Choong’s new Six Harmonious Woven Assorted Flavours Mooncake Set is designed around the idea of reunion and sharing, with six different mooncake flavours presented in a striking two-tiered red gift box.

The six flavours are Red Lotus Chicken Bak Kwa, White Lotus Olive Kernel, Black Sesame Salted Yolk, Jasmine Peach Oolong, White Lotus Yolk Blend and Pandan Melon Seed Salted Yolk.

The Red Lotus Chicken Bak Kwa is perhaps the most unusual of the six, pairing savoury chicken bak kwa with smooth red lotus paste. The Black Sesame Salted Yolk also stood out for its deep roasted sesame aroma and savoury finish.

For something lighter and more fragrant, the Jasmine Peach Oolong combines floral jasmine, oolong tea and sweet peach notes, while the Pandan Melon Seed Salted Yolk offers a more local flavour profile with pandan fragrance, crunchy melon seeds and salted egg yolk.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

What makes the Six Harmonious Woven set particularly gift-worthy is the packaging. The two-tiered box is embossed with a traditional Chinese knot, symbolising unity and prosperity, and opens to reveal a premium tea set and Rock Tea leaves on the upper level, with the six mooncakes stored below.

Singapore Mooncake Guide 2026: 14 Mooncake Collections Worth Trying This Mid-Autumn - Alvinology

Our verdict: One of the strongest gifting options on this list. The combination of six distinctive flavours, premium tea set and striking presentation makes it feel more like a complete Mid-Autumn gift than just a box of mooncakes.

After tasting our way through 14 mooncake brands, one thing is clear: there is no longer such a thing as a standard mooncake season.

Traditionalists can still find excellent lotus paste and salted egg yolk mooncakes from brands such as Shangri-La, Four Seasons, Fairmont and TungLok. Those looking for something more adventurous can explore Mr. Bucket, Man Fu Yuan and Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.

Our personal picks? Shangri-La for traditional baked mooncakes, He Bakes for homely touch, Mr. Bucket for creativity, Starbucks for the younger ones, Tablescape to impress, Cat & the Fiddle for durian and Old Seng Choong or Crowne Plaza for gifting.

The good news is that with 14 brands on this list, there is plenty to choose from before the full moon arrives.

Availability, collection points, addresses, opening hours and contact details vary by brand and outlet. Please check the respective official ordering channels before making a trip, as festive collections are available for a limited period while stocks last.
