There’s a new Bari Bari in town, and if you’re a fan of steak, its opening comes with a pretty tempting reason to make a visit this week.
Bari Bari Grand opened on 9 August 2026 at The Capitol Kempinski, bringing Hong Kong’s popular Bari Bari Steak concept to Singapore for the first time. Known for its hot stone teppan-style dining, the new outlet takes things up a notch with a more polished setting and an elevated menu.
Even better, diners can enjoy a limited-time opening promotion from 1 to 5 September. During this period, the Miyazaki Wagyu Zabuton (150g) is available at 30% off, while selected dishes including the Australian Angus Sirloin Steak, Wagyu Hamburg (2pcs), other Protein Teppans and Combo Teppans are going 1-for-1.
The new outlet takes that familiar concept up a notch with a more extensive menu featuring premium Japanese beef, seafood, appetisers, sake and wine. There’s also Bari Bari Social, an alfresco space where you can drop by for drinks and casual bites without ordering a main.
During our visit, we tried the Miyazaki Wagyu Ribeye Round ($75 for 150g), one of the A4/A5 Miyazaki Wagyu options available here. The beef is seared on the teppan before being served on a hot stone, so you can continue cooking it at the table to your preferred doneness. It comes with truffle mashed potatoes, cherry tomatoes, Brussels sprouts and pearl corn, plus house herb butter.
The hot stone makes the meal a little more interactive too. If you like your steak on the rarer side, you can tuck in straight away, while those who prefer it more cooked can leave it on the stone for a little longer.
We also tried the Gindara Teriyaki & Scallops Mentaiko Teppan ($36), which pairs silky, tender gindara with juicy scallops and a generous layer of creamy mentaiko. The fish was buttery and flaky, while the scallops were nicely seared and delicious.
For something on the side, the Atsuage Negi Cheese Yaki ($8) comes with deep-fried tofu cubes topped with cheese and crispy scallions, while the Iidako Karaage ($10) is made with crispy deep-fried baby octopus.
Another nice touch is the complimentary Gourmet Bar that comes with every main or teppan order. It has a rotating selection of fresh greens, salads and appetisers, along with sides and desserts such as Warabi Mochi and Matcha Tiramisu. There are also several sauces available, including Bari Bari’s signature sauce, Miyazaki Yakiniku Sauce, Yuzu Onion Sauce and Wasabi Sauce.
There’s plenty more on the menu if you’re visiting with a group. The Miyazaki Wagyu selection includes Zabuton ($68), Sirloin ($68), Ribeye Round ($75) and Rib Cap ($88), while seafood options range from Lobster Teppan ($69) and Salmon Mentaiko ($28) to Gindara Teriyaki ($32). The Lobster & Wagyu Hamburg Steak Teppan ($49) is another option if you can’t decide between meat and seafood.
