Ghost Kakigori Opens Its Fourth Outlet At Funan With Exclusive Gelato Flavours and New Desserts

Ghost Kakigori has opened its fourth outlet in Singapore at Funan, bringing its range of Japanese-inspired desserts to one of the most central spots in Singapore.

The new outlet features a Japanese-inspired interior for a more immersive dessert experience, while the menu continues to feature Ghost Kakigori’s signature kakigori made with specially Japan-sourced ice. 

The ice is finely shaved into an ultra-fine, fluffy texture that melts delicately in the mouth, with flavours ranging from Flamed Strawberry Brûlée ($14.90) and Snowy Taro ($13.90) to Mango Sago Koori ($12.90), Hokkaido Azuki & Uji Matcha ($14.90) and Dubai Pistachio Kunafa ($15.90). New to the kakigori line-up is the Hojicha Caramel Fuwari ($13.90), combining roasted hojicha with caramel for a richer, tea-forward option.

One of the highlights exclusive to the Funan outlet is Ghost Kakigori’s new gelato collection, which pairs Italian-style gelato with Japanese flavours. There are seven flavours available: Shiro Vanilla, Japanese Miso Rice, Truffle Cheese, Sicilian Pistachio, Uji Matcha, Genmaicha Caramel Crunch and Hokkaido Chocolate.

The Japanese Miso Rice is probably the flavour that caught our attention most. Combining the savoury notes of miso with rice in a creamy gelato, it is an unusual flavour for those who enjoy trying something beyond the usual dessert staples.

The gelato is available as a single scoop at $5.90 or double scoop at $7.90, served in either a Mysterious Cup or Yūrei Cone. For something a little more elaborate, the Gelato Daifuku ($7.90) is also available exclusively for dine-in.

Beyond the new gelato collection, several new flavours have also been added across the rest of the menu. The freshly made chilled dorayaki, which Ghost Kakigori prepares daily, now includes Mango Breeze, Choco Crunch, Strawberry Daifuku and Chestnut Bliss, alongside existing flavours such as Matcha Red Bean, Taro Mochi, Creme Red Bean, Oreo Cheese and Yuzu Bloom.

The fruit sandos have also received a refresh with Citrus Blossom ($7.90), Melon Harmony ($6.90) and Hanami Fruit Cloud ($7.90), joining options such as Ichigo Milk Cloud, Choco Banana Cloud, Golden Mango Cloud and Muscat Snow Cloud.

For drinks, new additions include Strawberry Hojicha Delight, Yuzu Hojicha Cream, Nutty Hojicha Crunch, Pomelo Zesty Matcha, Taro Mochi Bliss Matcha, Sunny Mango Matcha, Whole Strawberry Creamy Matcha Latte and Durian Cheese Royale Matcha.
