FairPrice Group is marking May Day 2026 with a nationwide push to help Singaporeans manage daily expenses, rolling out $5 million worth of savings for NTUC and Link members across its supermarket network and selected Kopitiam food courts.
The initiative centres on discounts for essential items, alongside additional promotions designed to stretch household budgets at a time when global energy disruptions and supply chain challenges continue to put pressure on prices. The move is part of FairPrice Group’s ongoing efforts to keep necessities affordable and accessible.
From 30 April, NTUC and Link members can enjoy 50 per cent discounts on selected essential items at FairPrice supermarkets, both in store and online. A different product will be featured each week, with deals announced every Thursday. The first promotion, running from 30 April to 3 May, offers the FairPrice Double FP Thai Hom Mali Rice 5kg at $7.05, down from its usual price of $14.10. Further deals will be revealed on 7 and 14 May. Customers can access these discounts by presenting their physical Link Rewards or NTUC card at checkout or by paying through the FairPrice Group app.
NTUC members will also receive additional exclusive savings through the app. By applying in app vouchers before payment, members can enjoy 50 per cent discounts on a broader range of essentials. The first of these deals, available from 30 April to 3 May, features FairPrice Canola Oil 2L at $4.75, half its usual price of $9.50. More in app promotions will be released on 7 and 14 May.
Beyond supermarkets, FairPrice Foundation has partnered with Kopitiam to bring back a popular offering of 50 cent hot kopi and teh. Available at 70 Kopitiam outlets islandwide from 1 to 31 May, the promotion allows customers to purchase a cup of coffee or tea at a heavily subsidised price by presenting a physical silver NTUC card or redeeming an e voucher through the FairPrice Group app.
The May Day campaign builds on a broader series of cost relief measures introduced by FairPrice Group since the start of 2026. These include a price freeze on more than 300 essential items, alongside increased discounts of up to 6 per cent for CHAS blue and orange cardholders from 9 April to 29 May. The group has also been running its 12 week BestSellers for Less campaign from 19 March to 10 June, offering discounts of up to 36 per cent on housebrand products.
Additional initiatives earlier in the year included the distribution of 80,000 sets of Buka Puasa refreshments during Ramadan, more than $60,000 worth of festive care packs to beneficiaries across over 20 charity and community partners, and a price freeze on seafood, vegetables and chilled pork during the Chinese New Year period from 29 January to 3 March 2026. FairPrice Group also issued $6 and $8 FairPrice Return vouchers in January and February respectively, in line with the government’s CDC support package.
