HTC Launches VIVE Eagle AI Smart Glasses in Singapore with Singtel

HTC Corporation has officially introduced its first AI-powered smart eyewear, the VIVE Eagle, in Singapore through a partnership with Singtel. The new wearable device debuted in the market on March 7, marking a significant step in bringing practical AI-powered smart glasses into everyday life.

Available through selected Singtel retail stores and the telco’s eCommerce platform, VIVE Eagle combines artificial intelligence, photography, audio, and connectivity in a sleek and lightweight design built for daily use.

AI-Powered Smart Glasses for Everyday Tasks

Designed with a minimalist, fashion-forward look, VIVE Eagle integrates several smart features into a lightweight eyewear form. The glasses include an AI assistant, first-person image capture, and open-ear audio, enabling users to perform tasks hands-free.

At launch, the device supports voice interactions in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese (Beta), with additional languages expected later this year. The AI assistant allows users to perform everyday tasks such as searching for information, planning schedules, translating text, and capturing photos simply through voice commands.

Examples of commands include:

  • “Hey VIVE, add a meeting tomorrow at 9 AM to Google Calendar.”
  • “Hey VIVE, play music.”
  • “Hey VIVE, search for the top-rated café near Orchard MRT Station.”

These features aim to simplify daily routines, whether commuting, traveling, or multitasking on the go.

Open AI Architecture with Multiple LLM Options

One of VIVE Eagle’s standout features is its open large language model (LLM) architecture. Through VIVE AI, users can choose between leading AI models such as Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT (Beta).

This open framework gives users flexibility to select the AI service that best suits their needs, whether for productivity, translation while traveling, or quick everyday searches. HTC also plans to expand supported AI services through future software updates.

Natural Voice Conversations and Intelligent Memory

The device supports a Follow-up Mode, allowing the AI assistant to continue listening briefly after answering a query so users can ask additional questions without repeating the wake phrase.

Through the VIVE Connect app, users can also store personal notes using an AI-powered memory feature. This allows them to retrieve saved information later using natural voice queries, for example, asking where they parked their car or recalling reminders.

An upcoming software update will introduce AI Notes, which converts spoken moments into structured summaries, helping users organize meeting notes, reminders, and ideas on the go.

Voice-Activated Photography and Visual Translation

VIVE Eagle features a 12MP ultra-wide camera that enables voice-activated photography from a natural first-person perspective. Users can capture moments simply by saying, “Hey VIVE, take a photo.”

The device also supports visual translation, allowing users to photograph menus, signs, or printed information and instantly translate them. The feature currently supports over 70 languages, depending on the selected AI model.

Privacy and Security Built In

Privacy and security were key priorities in the development of VIVE Eagle. According to HTC, user data is protected through advanced encryption and de-identification measures. VIVE AI is also certified under ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 standards for data protection.

The company states that user data is not sold or used for AI training, and local storage is protected with AES-256 encryption. To address privacy concerns in public spaces, the glasses include an LED indicator during camera use and automatically disable photo and video capture when the device is not worn.

Lightweight Design with Premium Optics

Weighing under 49 grams, VIVE Eagle features a refined semi-transparent design with adjustable nose pads and an ergonomic frame built for all-day wear.

The glasses use **ZEISS UV400 sun lenses for visual clarity and protection, with an option for ZEISS AdaptiveSun lenses that offer enhanced UV protection.

Open-Ear Audio and Long Battery Life

The glasses feature open-ear speakers with large acoustic drivers and virtual bass amplification, allowing users to listen to music or take calls while remaining aware of their surroundings. Directional microphones and noise filtering help maintain voice clarity even in busy environments.

Powered by a 235mAh battery, VIVE Eagle delivers up to 36 hours of standby time and around 4.5 hours of continuous music playback. Its magnetic fast-charging system can reach 50% charge in just 10 minutes, helping users stay connected throughout the day.

Availability and Pricing in Singapore

VIVE Eagle is available in Singapore starting March 7 at selected Singtel retail outlets and online.

The suggested retail price is:

  • SGD 730 for the VIVE Eagle Sunlenses
  • SGD 880 for the VIVE Eagle AdaptiveSun Lenses (Full UV Protection)

Color options include Berry, Coffee, Grey, and Black, depending on size availability.
