[Review] From Tiffany Blue Har Gow to Pandan Crispy Pork Bun, Enjoy Perfectly Executed Dim Sum at Sum Dim Sum

Sum Dim Sum in Bedok has long been voted one of Singapore’s best dim sum spots, and after trying their dinner buffet recently, I can see why.

The food is consistently well-executed, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour, making it a satisfying experience from start to finish.

I started with the pan-fried carrot cake, which had a perfect balance of soft, silky radish filling and a golden, crisp exterior that added a pleasant crunch.

The fried prawn roll in beancurd skin was light yet flavourful, with fresh prawns and a subtle hint of sesame oil wrapped in a delicate, crisp skin that held together beautifully.

The fresh prawn Tiffany Blue XL Har Gow was my favourite. Each dumpling was filled generously with shrimp filling that was juicy and bouncy, wrapped in a delicate, translucent skin with a striking blue colour that made it almost too pretty to eat. The natural sweetness of the prawn combined with the slightly chewy skin made every bite feel indulgent yet refined.

The signature pandan crispy pork bun was another highlight and something you won’t find elsewhere in Singapore. The bun was fluffy and fragrant with pandan aroma, while the filling was incredibly juicy and full of flavour, with tender pork and a sweet-savory glaze.

For mains, the moonlight hor fun was silky and smooth, stir-fried just right with a light, savoury sauce coating every strand. It came loaded with generous ingredients like shrimp, fishcake, and even egg. Mixing the egg in added a slightly creamy texture and extra richness to the noodles, giving each bite more depth and making the flavours feel more rounded.

Among the desserts, the mango sago with pomelo was bright, refreshing, and fruity.

The orh nee with coconut milk and gingko nut was smooth, comforting, and not sweet at all, and you could tell it was handmade from the texture.

The egg tarts, served on a literal nest, were a charming and delicious finish, with a crisp, buttery pastry and silky custard.

If you’re coming with a big group, Sum Dim Sum has three spacious private rooms that are perfect for family gatherings or catching up with friends. Each room even comes with a karaoke system, adding a fun touch to the meal. The staff are also friendly, helpful, and attentive to your needs during the meal.

Looking ahead, Sum Dim Sum is rolling out a limited-edition Chinese New Year menu in collaboration with Michelin-experienced Chef Ben Yapp from 16 to 19 February 2026.
