For cat lovers and those who place meaning in auspicious festive symbols, home grown pastry brand, Cat & the Fiddle’s Chinese New Year (CNY) offerings bring together playful branding and traditional good fortune.
Cat & the Fiddle is best known for its premium cheesecakes, offering more than 20 varieties that include classic favourites and Asian inspired flavours. The brand was conceived by patissier Daniel Tay and has since grown into one of Singapore’s established dessert retailers, with both online and physical retail presence.
As CNY approaches, the brand is marking the season with cutesy cat-shaped pineapple tarts and cookies designed for gifting, sharing and welcoming prosperity in the Year of the Horse. The collection features a mix of reimagined classics and indulgent cookies, all of which are Halal certified for inclusive celebrations.
Pineapple tarts remain a familiar fixture in many CNY celebrations, valued for their golden colour and sweet tangy flavour that symbolise prosperity and good fortune. For the festive period, Cat & the Fiddle is offering three cat-shaped pineapple tart options.
The Original Pineapple Tart features tangy pineapple filling with a light parmesan note, wrapped in a pink pastry shell. The Pandan Gula Melaka Pineapple Tart combines pineapple jam with gula Melaka and pandan, finished in a green crust inspired by Southeast Asian flavours. A Mixed Pineapple Tart box includes both flavours for those who prefer variety when gifting or serving guests.
Alongside the pineapple tarts, the CNY range also includes two cookie options.
The Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Cookie is made with rich chocolate and finished with a touch of sea salt, while the ChocoChip Cookie offers a classic combination of buttery dough and chocolate chips. Both are intended for casual snacking and house visits during the festive period.
Customers who purchase any box of pineapple tarts will also receive a set of specially designed ang baos created by Cat & the Fiddle.
The Original Pineapple Tart, Pandan Gula Melaka Pineapple Tart and Mixed Pineapple Tart are each priced at S.80 per 12 piece box. The Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Cookie is priced at S.90 per 150 gram tin, while the ChocoChip Cookie retails at S.90 per 150 gram tin.
