Ring in the New Year With Festive High Tea at Hari’s Lobby Lounge & Bar From Just $44++ Per Pax

We spent a quiet afternoon easing into the new year at Holiday Inn’s Hari’s Lobby Lounge & Bar to try their latest Lunar New Year exclusive, the 10 Tastes of Fortune High Tea, available from 5 January to 22 February 2026.

At S$88++ for two persons, the set feels especially worth it. The experience starts on a light note with cold selections. First up was the Marinated Scallop Lids in Beetroot Sesame Cone, which we found refreshing and easy to enjoy, thanks to the sweetness of the scallops balanced by earthy beetroot and a subtle sesame finish.

The Golden Bak Kwa with Chicken Floss and Cheese in Toasted Bread was comfort food in bite-sized form. Familiar festive flavours came together nicely, with the smokiness of the bak kwa balanced by the savoury richness of chicken floss and melted cheese.

The Smoked Duck Wrap Topped with Hoisin Sauce and Truffle Paste brought a richer flavour profile, with just enough truffle to elevate the dish without overpowering the duck. The addition of cucumber and tomato within the wrap also added a refreshing crunch

Moving on to the warm bites, the Fortune Yam Paste with Scallop & Black Caviar had a smooth, creamy interior balanced by a lightly crisp exterior, adding contrast to the overall texture.

The Braised Abalone with Chicken Sausage and Mushroom Glutinous Rice was easily one of our favourites. Hearty yet not overly filling, it captured the spirit of festive abundance. We especially enjoyed the surprise element, as bits of sausage were hidden within the glutinous rice, adding an extra layer of sweetness to each bite.

We ended the savoury selection with the Golden Sesame Lava Ball, which had a chewy, mochi-like interior and a rich molten red bean centre inside.

Lastly, we had the sweet selection to round off the experience. The Osmanthus Jelly with Raspberry Coulis was refreshing and floral, offering a welcome reset after the richer savoury options.

The Golden Pineapple Caramel Dome was bold in flavour, with a balance of sweetness and slight tang. The crunchy biscuit base helped cut through the richness, preventing it from feeling too jelat.

The Fortune Cherry Peanut was our favourite among the sweets. A light peanut-flavoured mousse was paired with a bright, refreshing cherry centre, creating a contrast that kept each bite interesting and well balanced.

The CNY Themed Chocolate, together with the Assorted CNY Auspicious Cookies and Assorted CNY Prosperity Macaroons, immediately brought back festive memories. We spotted familiar favourites like love letters, pineapple tarts and cashew nut cookies.The macaroons were decorated with cute festive motifs like the 福 character and chinese lanterns, and we loved that they were light and not overly sweet, making them just as tasty to eat as they were pretty to look at.

All beverages for this high tea are served hot, with iced options available separately, and we loved that it came with free flow coffee and a variety of teas. Even better, we could switch between drinks anytime, so if we wanted to try a different tea or coffee halfway through, it was no problem at all. It made the experience feel relaxed and really encouraged us to take our time and enjoy the afternoon.
