INITIAL D Races Back Into Cinemas With a 20th Anniversary 4K Special Edition

INITIAL D is making a blazing return to the big screen! To celebrate two decades of adrenaline-fueled street racing, Shaw Organisation is bringing back the iconic Hong Kong classic in the INITIAL D 20th Anniversary Special Edition 4K (Cantonese).

Starring fan favourites Jay Chou, Anne Suzuki, Edison Chen, Shawn Yue, Anthony Wong, and more, this cult hit remains one of the most beloved live-action adaptations of Shuichi Shigeno’s legendary street-racing manga. The film’s gritty realism, high-speed action sequences, and unforgettable cast made it an era-defining milestone for fans across Asia.

Now meticulously remastered in 4K and presented in its original Cantonese audio, the film returns sharper, smoother, and more exhilarating than ever before.

Directed by acclaimed duo Andrew Lau and Alan Mak, this special edition will screen exclusively at Shaw Theatres for a limited time starting 9 January 2026.
