Jin Yee Young, Co-Head UBS Global Wealth Management Asia Pacific and Country Head UBS Singapore, Carine Roitfeld and Brigitte Niedermair hosted close to 50 students from LASALLE and NAFA at UBS House of Craft x Dior Singapore exhibition offering emerging local talent a rare opportunity to learn from fashion’s leading visionaries
Nearly 50 emerging fashion creatives from LASALLE College of the Arts and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) were given a rare, up-close encounter with haute couture heritage as UBS hosted a special community programme at the UBS House of Craft x Dior exhibition in Singapore.
The session opened with an intimate dialogue featuring two of fashion’s most influential figures: Carine Roitfeld, former Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris, and renowned photographer Brigitte Niedermair. Moderated by Maya Menon, Associate Deputy Editor of Vogue Singapore, the discussion offered students valuable insights into creative vision, craftsmanship, and the artistic choices behind the exhibition’s curation.
Following the talk, students embarked on a guided tour with Roitfeld and Niedermair, traversing 80 years of Dior’s legacy. From archival garments to evocative imagery, the exhibition showcased how couture techniques, storytelling, and innovation converge in the Maison’s iconic designs.
The experience culminated in a hands-on session at the craft table, where Dior Atelier artisans demonstrated signature couture techniques. Students watched artisans at work, stitch by stitch, gaining a rare view into the precision, detail, and discipline that define Dior’s world of haute craftsmanship.
The initiative reflects UBS’s long-standing commitment to nurturing arts, culture, and education. By creating meaningful learning platforms, UBS aims to support the next generation of designers, makers, and storytellers.
For many students, the encounter offered more than a look at global couture standards, it served as a powerful reminder that artistry is both a passion and a lifelong pursuit.
The UBS House of Craft x Dior exhibition will be open to the public from 21 to 23 November 2025, featuring talks, programmes, and special events.
