Cathay Unveils a Smoother, Simpler and More Rewarding Membership Experience

Cathay is elevating the way its members travel with a major evolution of its membership programme designed to be smoother, simpler, and more rewarding. Rolling out from 1 January 2027, with a transition period starting 1 January 2026, the enhanced programme will make it easier for Green, Silver, Gold, and Diamond members to progress and enjoy exclusive lifestyle and travel privileges.

This transformation underscores Cathay’s commitment to delivering exceptional value, seamless journeys, and greater flexibility for its members.

Key Enhancements to the Membership Programme

• Faster and smoother status progression
  Status Points will no longer reset after an upgrade, meaning members can continue climbing the status ladder in a single year without losing their progress.
• Standardised membership cycle
  All members will now have a calendar-year cycle (1 January to 31 December), replacing the rolling system. This provides a clearer, more predictable timeline to plan travel and reach milestones.
• Status Points rollover for Gold and above
  Members with Gold status or higher can carry over up to 50% of excess Status Points into the next year, giving them a head start toward retaining or upgrading their status.

New Elite Tier: Diamond Exec

Cathay is introducing Diamond Exec, a new top-tier status for members who earn 2,400 Status Points within a single year. This exclusive level offers:

• A dedicated Relationship Manager for personalised support
• A suite of bespoke privileges for enhanced comfort and convenience

Complimentary Diamond Membership Year

Long-time Diamond members can now secure their elite status even during slower travel years.

• Members who have maintained Diamond status for at least five cumulative years can earn a complimentary Diamond membership year for every 6,000 lifetime Status Points accumulated.
• These complimentary years have no expiry and no limit, allowing members to claim them whenever they choose.

These changes will make it easier for members to progress, plan, and enjoy their journeys with more flexibility and greater recognition.
