From basketball courts to the heart of street culture, the adidas Superstar has been an icon for generations: a shoe that has continuously crossed boundaries, shaped trends, and inspired self-expression. Now, adidas Originals is celebrating its legacy with the latest chapter of its global platform, “Superstar: The Original”, spotlighting the cultural influence of this timeless silhouette.
Shot in high-contrast black and white by acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Thibaut Grevet, the campaign takes place on a “living stage”, a bold visual homage to the Superstar’s original colourway and enduring design. Samuel L. Jackson narrates the cinematic journey, comparing the Superstar’s cultural impact to monuments that stand the test of time.

The Superstar returns in two classic colourways, paired with the legendary Firebird Tracksuit, a staple since 1967 and a favourite among musicians, athletes, and style innovators. The refreshed sneaker features enhanced tongue and collar padding, a nod to the creative era of the late ’90s when the Superstar became the footwear of choice for artists, skaters, and rule-breakers.
