Guest of Honour Madam Halimah Yacob, former President of Singapore and current Chancellor of the Singapore University of Social Sciences, lauded the walkathon’s spirit of togetherness. She emphasized its role in fostering social cohesion as the nation reflects on six decades of progress and peace.

Kicking off at Hong Lim Green and ending at Marina Barrage, the 5km route took walkers through Singapore’s historical and modern landmarks—Chinatown, the Central Business District, Merlion Park, and Gardens by the Bay—symbolising the nation’s journey from port town to global metropolis.

One of the event’s most striking highlights was the display of 60 giant flags—each 9 metres tall and inscribed with Chinese blessing phrases. Suopported by over 50 individuals and community groups, the stunning visual earned a spot in the Singapore Book of Records for the “Largest Flag Display in Singapore.”
