Marina Bay Sands to Host Singapore’s First Black Pearl Restaurant Guide Awards in 2025

Singapore is set to welcome one of Asia’s most prestigious culinary events as the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide 2025 Awards Ceremony makes its debut outside of China. Taking place on April 25, 2025, at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, this landmark event will bring together top chefs, industry experts, and food lovers from across Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, Macao, Hong Kong, and Taiwan for an evening celebrating the pinnacle of Chinese gastronomy.

A Prestigious Culinary Recognition

Founded by Meituan in 2018, the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide is a premier fine-dining guide that spotlights exceptional Chinese restaurants worldwide. Designed to help Chinese travelers discover outstanding dining experiences both at home and abroad, the guide evaluates restaurants through anonymous tastings by expert judges, emphasizing culinary heritage, innovation, and ingredient excellence.

For the first time, the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Regions awards will be held outside of China, underscoring Black Pearl’s expanding international influence. Singapore, known for its rich cultural diversity and world-class food scene, is the perfect host for this cross-cultural celebration of Chinese gastronomy.

A Star-Studded Black Pearl Gala Dinner

The awards ceremony will culminate in an exclusive Black Pearl Gala Dinner, featuring an extraordinary 10-hands collaboration between some of the most celebrated Black Pearl chefs:

  • Yongfu (Three Diamonds, Shanghai)
  • Jing Xi Hui (Three Diamonds, Shanghai – “AMAZING CHINESE CUISINE”)
  • La Chine (One Diamond, Macao)
  • CUT by Wolfgang Puck (Marina Bay Sands, Singapore)
  • Waku Ghin by Tetsuya Wakuda (One Diamond, Singapore)

This unprecedented dining experience will showcase the artistry and depth of Chinese fine dining, blending time-honored techniques with cutting-edge culinary innovations.

Black Pearl’s Rigorous Selection Process

The 2025 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide upholds its strict evaluation standards, with anonymous reviewers conducting multiple rounds of tastings throughout the year. Big data insights from Meituan, combined with verification from China’s national notary agencies, ensure the integrity and fairness of the rankings.

Restaurants are awarded based on three levels of excellence:

  • One Diamond – A must-visit for refined Chinese cuisine
  • Two Diamonds – An outstanding culinary destination worth traveling for
  • Three Diamonds – A world-class dining experience offering the best in Chinese gastronomy

Stay tuned for an unforgettable Black Pearl Restaurant Guide 2025 Awards Ceremony this April at Marina Bay Sands.
