Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre Launches Year-Long SG60 Cultural Calendar with Tribute to 60 Prominent Chinese Singaporeans

The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC), in collaboration with the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI) and the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA), has unveiled a year-long SG60 cultural calendar—starting with the launch of the 60 Prominent Cultural Figures from the Chinese Community exhibition.

Honoring Cultural Icons

Unveiled on 6 March 2025, the exhibition showcases 60 standees featuring Chinese Singaporeans who have made significant contributions to Singapore’s cultural heritage across six fields: academia, commerce, literary arts, media, performing arts, and visual arts. Presented in both English and Chinese, the exhibition is open at SCCC and Singapore Conference Hall until 30 November 2025, before traveling to various locations across Singapore from June 2025.

A Year of SG60 Celebrations

The exhibition marks the start of a dynamic SG60 cultural programme, bringing together local Chinese institutions and arts groups. Upcoming highlights include:

  • SG60 Weekend Festival (June) – A vibrant cultural showcase by SCCC and arts groups
  • Siaw-Tao Chinese Seal Carving & Calligraphy Exhibition (July–August)
  • Nanyang Breakfast Travelling Exhibition (April onwards) – Presented by SCCC and SFCCA
  • Concerts by Reverberance (April) and Cultural Medallion recipient Phoon Yew Tien (August)
  • Drama production by Young People’s Performing Arts Ensemble (YPPAE) (March)

The SG60 cultural calendar invites Singaporeans to rediscover Chinese heritage, celebrate local icons, and engage with the evolving cultural landscape.
