KFC Singapore is bringing festive cheer with the return of its popular Parmesan Truffle Chicken, alongside new seasonal treats and an innovative twist—Sonic Seasoning. Yes you read it correctly, seasoning with something intangible, sound.
The limited edition festive menu is now available in Singapore from now to 1 January 2025.
The star of the holiday menu, Parmesan Truffle Chicken, features KFC’s signature fried chicken drizzled with truffle-infused cheese sauce and topped with grated parmesan.
To enhance the flavour, KFC has introduced Sonic Seasoning, a custom Christmas jingle scientifically designed to amplify taste perception. The low bass tones and high-pitched chimes in the melody are said to enhance umami and crispiness, creating a multisensory dining experience.
Developed by consumer neuroscientist Professor Gemma Calvert from Nanyang Technological University in collaboration with musicians, the refreshed Christmas jingle has been scientifically tested to enhance the flavour of KFC’s Parmesan Truffle Chicken. By scanning a QR code, diners can play the specially arranged tune, which uses low-frequency bass tones to amplify umami and richness, while high-frequency sounds like bells and chimes heighten crispiness. This unique blend of tones and beats are said to create an immersive sensory experience, enhancing the enjoyment of both chicken and burger offerings.
You can listen to the jingle here, via Spotify while enjoying your next KFC meal.
Joining the Parmesan Truffle Chicken is the all-new Parmesan Truffle Burger. This creation features KFC’s signature Zinger fillet, truffle-infused cheese sauce, and grated parmesan nestled in sesame buns.
For dessert, customers can enjoy the Salted Caramel Mochi Ring, a chewy, donut-shaped treat made of mochi dough balls drizzled with salted caramel sauce.
Other indulgent sides include BBQ Nachos with Cheese Sauce (S.95) and Cheesy Whipped Potato (S.30).
The Parmesan Truffle Chicken is priced at S.60 ala carte, while the Parmesan Truffle Burger is available for S.20. The Salted Caramel Mochi Ring is offered at S
