The Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS) brought the nation’s F&B scene together at the RAS Epicurean Star Award 2024, spotlighting Singapore’s culinary creativity and a growing commitment to health-conscious dining. Held at Marina Bay Sands Singapore, the 29th edition of this prestigious event featured Health Minister Mr. Ong Ye Kung as Guest of Honour, underscoring the alignment with Singapore’s national health goals.
This year’s Epicurean Star Award took on new significance with the introduction of a Best Healthy Restaurant category, reflecting diners’ preference for nutritious menu options and ingredient transparency. This addition celebrated F&B establishments that prioritize wellness, helping reshape Singapore’s culinary landscape with choices that support public health. With a record 204 nominations across 25 categories, this year’s event set a high bar for culinary innovation, health, and sustainability, highlighting a 36% increase in participation from the previous year.
The evening’s gala dinner brought together celebrated chefs, including Chef David Pynt of Burnt Ends, Chef Tatsuya Wakuda of WAKUDA & Waku Ghin, Chef Wayne Liew of KEK Seafood, and Chef Hoi Kuok I of Marina Bay Sands. Crafted with themes of health, sustainability, and innovation in mind, the menu featured dishes that showcased local abundance, waste reduction, and bold culinary creativity, all curated by Unilever Food Solutions as part of its Future Menus showcase.
