Kidney Dialysis Foundation to Host Annual Charity Events: Got To Walk & Got To Goal 2024

The Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF) is set to unite Singapore’s kidney community and the public through its highly anticipated charity events, Got To Walk on November 9 and Got To Goal from December 7-8, 2024. These annual events, aimed at raising awareness about kidney health and vital funds for underprivileged patients, highlight KDF’s mission to ensure no kidney patient is left without the care they need due to a lack of funds.

Graced by key figures such as Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, Mr. Chee Hong Tat, and Ms. Tin Pei Ling, Member of Parliament for Macpherson SMC, the events will bring together around 6,000 participants, including patients, advocates, and experts, to raise awareness about kidney disease, which affects 14% of Singaporeans. With six new cases of kidney failure diagnosed every day, the urgency to educate the public and support vulnerable patients is greater than ever.

Got To Walk 2024: Beat Diabetes, Protect Your Kidneys

Held at OCBC Square, Singapore Sports Hub, on November 9 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, this 5km fun walk encourages participants to lead healthier lifestyles and combat diabetes, a major contributor to kidney failure. Kicking off with a health pledge led by Minister Chee Hong Tat, the event will emphasize the importance of staying active to protect kidney function. Along the scenic walk, participants will enjoy a host of family-friendly activities, from live performances and fitness workouts to carnival games and an exciting grand lucky draw featuring prizes like an EMPIRE Prestige Massage Chair.

In a nod to sustainability, KDF has ensured eco-friendly practices throughout the event, from reducing plastic use to incorporating a string art installation symbolizing healthy habits like staying active and hydrated.

Got To Goal: Healthier As One

From December 7-8, Got To Goal will continue KDF’s health-focused mission with a futsal tournament at Kick Off @ Kovan, promoting fitness and family bonding through sports. With special appearances from former national football player Hassan Sunny and other Football Association of Singapore players, participants will engage in a day of fun competitions, family-friendly carnival games, and health screenings. Ms. Tin Pei Ling will present trophies and prizes to futsal champions, followed by a grand lucky draw to conclude the festivities.
